The first FNAF is the best FNAF in my opinion, but like every scary game I play, I don't like it cause it makes me scared. I played this one with my best friend, but he'd already beat it at that point and left me in control of the player character. With a friend, I'd recommend. Solo, nah bro.

A gem to play, but the harbinger of shitty internet. There were many moments filled with aimlessly playing this game on school computers when the Internet became spotty. However, while it brought joy it also brought sorrow. Seeing this catatonic dino in an instance where you actually needed the internet to work brought only stress. Shout out to those late assignments that would have been on time if I'd been able to connect to the school's printer system. At least if I wasn't running to class I could be running a dinosaur towards my dreams.

This was one of my favourite games as a kid. Rugrats has always been one of my favourite cartoons. Rugrats: Scavenger Hunt was a super accessible, short and easy board game style video game. At this point I'd only play it for nostalgic reasons, but its got that Rugrats charm fans would know and love.

It's fun, but I just feel like playing Halo when I played it. So... I'll just do that instead. Thanks Bungie?

I get people love this game, but I can't be bothered to care. I tried playing it a few times but the intensity of the competitive culture combined with my usual disinterest in shooters really turned me off the game. There are other shooters I prefer more, and better team based games too in my opinion.

2015

I was looking for a free game to play online with a friend and came across Trove. We played for a couple hours once, and I have never touched it again. It didn't hold my interest or leave an impression, good or bad. Check it out if you're interested I suppose.

Brawlhalla is a fun arcade fighter, but not at the top of my recommended games list to be honest. The mechanics control well enough and the online matches functions when the servers decide they want to run properly. But gameplay felt a bit tedious to me after a while. I've never been a big fighting game kinda person, so maybe that has skewed my opinion. Check it out if you're interested, it is free, but don't expect the greatest game of your life.

This right here is PEAK Halo and PEAK Xbox 360. The hours- the days- the months- the YEARS I spent playing this game solo, with my brother, with friends, couch co-op, and online. The firefight maps are spectacular. The online game modes were legendary (although around 2014 they updated a bunch of the maps, ruining Sword Base on Infection mode in my opinion). No Forge mode has ever been this good and the campaign is one of the greatest Halo campaigns. Noble Team will forever live in my gaming books as some of the greats. This game is one of the few reasons I hesitated selling my 360 collection. Thank god its included in the Master Chief collection on PC. I return to this game at least once every few years.

This game freaked me the hell out when I played it. What kept me committing to it was having a friend to play it with. This made the scary parts more bearable because we could hide our faces and the other person could take control. The story evolves in a pretty interesting way, and the insanity affect is an effective game mechanic that builds dread in the player. I won't be playing it again any time soon though. I don't like being scared, and this game was too successful with making that happen.

The best part of this game will always be Subspace Emissary and the Demo's for games each fighter originates from. I spent countless hours playing demo's for games I'd never even heard of as a kid and I've lost track of the number of times I've played Subspace with my brother and best friend. Also the art style in this game is one of my favourites in the Smash series. I'm heartbroken we never got a Subspace in Ultimate, otherwise it would have truly been the ultimate Smash for me.

Broken Age caught my eye because of it's beautiful art direction and stellar voice cast. When I played Act 1, I fell in love instantaneously with the story and it's characters. My imagination ran wild with what the mysteries of this world could be. I think for that very reason, the second Act felt like a bit of a let down. The truths that were revealed didn't meet my expectation and felt a bit rushed. I would still strongly recommend folks check Broken Age out though, its a great story and a beautiful game. Shout out to Elijah Wood for being in every quirky he project he can (this game included). We love a franchise actor who pockets a big paycheque and then makes whatever art he wants.

Ocarina of Time was the first Zelda game I ever played. As a kid, I played it at the houses of friends, speed-ran the timed demo on Smash Bros. Brawl countless times, and finally downloaded a ROM of it in high school. This is the foundation for what we know 3D Zelda games to be, but also for all modern 3D adventure games. Hyrule Field's theme has lived on eternally since, z-targeting is a core mechanic in so many games, and the water temple will always be the biggest piece of crap any game will ever have. I love it all. I highly recommend folks check out the two part manga by Akira Himekawa if you'd like to experience the story expanded upon in a great way.

It's a bit of a wild journey going from To The Moon to the opening sequence of this game. It starts in a very unexpected way, but I like where this game goes narratively a lot. This series seems to be leaning more into its philosophical themes and science fiction genre more as each game releases. Not the part that made me first love this series, but I'm glad they aren't rehashing the same emotional journey every game.

Did this game deserve Game of the Year over Baldur's Gate 3? No. Absolutely not. Is it MY Game of the Year for 2023? You bet your Spidey spandex it is! The JOY I felt playing this game! Once again we have a fantastic Spider-Man simulator doing all the things you love from the last two games. Engaging combat, beautiful swing mechanics, and a cast of characters you love, you hate, and you hate to love. Insomniac once again did a great job taking pre-existing Spider-Man characters and stories, and spun them into an original narrative that still felt extremely faithful to the source material. My only gripe is that I wish Peter played more like he did in the first game, while still letting Miles exist as he does mechanically in this game. Yes, I think it would have roughed up the smooth transition Insomniac was going for when jumping between Spider-Men. But I think the more you played, the more it would have encouraged unique play styles from every player.

I didn't actually play this game, I watched my best friend play it and I backseated. It's fine, but like I'm not upset we never finished it. Some of the plot points and surprise twists were fun, but then others were just bad. Plus, most of the characters were just annoying. I won't be playing a Danganronpa game again anytime soon.
