I made it to the fire Gym and gave my borrowed copy back to my friend, lol. Maybe one day I play it to completion and turn my opinion around, but I'm never ever going to fork over the 90 dollars they're somehow still asking me to pay for the full experience.

It's pretty good. Platforming is just kinda standard though, which clashes with sonic's controls

If this were just the stages as they are, this would be unironically great. But there's lots of padding, and its all bad, all of it. Just the worst. I don't want to spend 30 minutes in robot carnival or finding hermit crabs, just lemme play the game :(

Yes, the hub world feels a bit obtrusive on replays, but on the first go around, its fine. I love the tag team mechanics in this game a lot. A very fun game when viewed top to bottom.

Mech Bad. Translation wonky. Half the hunting stages bad.

Everything else? Sonic at its absolute best.

Every time I try to play this game I get stopped on the second level. Screen crunch makes the level design feel really obtuse and hard to follow. I'm curious to see if a widescreen remake that showed more of the screen would help this game. Advance trilogy remaster please sega.

Wonderful, superb, outstanding. This game is so good that it would be faster to list my few issues than to state everything great about it, those being the first few hours of the game can feel a bit rocky and that occasionally, the rushed nature of the game shows its head in the places where content was obviously cut (like what would have been the water dungeon.)
Exploration is sublime, on par with BotW imo. Sailing the ocean to fill out your map and discover new islands is just such an incredible feeling. Dungeons are good- far from the series peak in that department, but still good. Story is fantastic. Visuals are charming. I cried at the end. Buy a Wii U just to play this game. I'm serious.

The definitive way to play a great game. Best dungeon lineup in the series. Fantastic tone. Great mechanics. Good music. Good overworld design. Banger game. Issues are kind of weird pacing and a story that, while very good, feels just slightly less complete than some of the other games in the series. It at least sticks the landing, imo.
Buy a Wii u for this and WWHD, seriously. They can get pretty cheap if you get one secondhand.

Surprisingly fun. Play it online with randos or friends instead of using the puppet switching mechanic.

It's pretty good :) Has a few blemishes, but I'd still call it a good game. I think a remake has the potential to be a full 5 stars.

I think there's some level design flaws that too many people glance over, but it's pretty good. I'm glad everyone enjoyed it a bit more than I did.

Literally my favorite game of all time. Everything to say has been said countless times, its just incredible how well this game holds up with just a little polish (this remake.)

I was initially excited to see them leaning more into the Metroid elements, but after finishing it, its a step down from Web of Shadows DS as a complete package, though not completely meritless.
