Lovely game!

The story is simple, but heartfelt. The storytelling has such a metal vibe, and it really sells the dramatic and triumphant moments. I really liked all the little storylines along the way, too. The whole party has some fun dynamics.

The art style is great. It feels inspired by old-school RPGs. There is a ton of 2D art, with a lot of 3D elements. The style and color palette are bleak and dark, but there’s still some striking imagery.

The world has a lot of cool details that make it feel more alive. In the hours I spent in these animal cities, I felt like I was slowly getting to know the citizens. There is a pretty good amount of dialogue in this game, there’s just so many scenarios where different characters react to events. Murida especially is a weirdly comforting dystopia. I liked interacting with the different characters, and seeing what small side quests would pop up.

Speaking of quests, there appears to be no quest markers or journal. There’s really no HUD at all outside of combat. There isn’t even a map. This is cool most of the time, as the different levels are distinct and memorable which makes navigating easy. Not having a journal/ quest log did make it a little tough at times, especially if I took a break from playing. Two times I had to reference a let’s play because I just didn’t know where to go or what to do.

Definitely worth looking in to if you want an RPG with a metal rat aesthetic.

This is a really fun game to just turn your brain off and cause some chaos. I was resistant to the flying squirrel suit at first but it’s sooo fun. I was just flying around for minutes at a time because it was so satisfying. I set the record for continuous flying session by accident because I loved it so much. That says a LOT about me.

The game is really beautiful and it’s just so much fun to play. It runs well on the steam deck too which is great.

The only things I liked better about JC2 are the map and the ability to spawn vehicles whenever you want. Everything else is an upgrade in my opinion. I even liked the campaign better in JC3.

Dang, I gotta play this game again it’s a lot of fun.

The storytelling is really good. The initial premise is simple: a father and a son travel up a dangerous mountain to scatter the mother’s ashes at its peak, but things get complicated when a mysterious stranger shows up at Kratos’ door and beats the heck out of him. This happens in the first fifteen minutes of the game, and it immediately hooked me. The way that the characters and game withhold information from the player makes everything so intriguing. One of the reasons I love Mimir is because he’s one of the few people who can explain what is going on. Every tidbit of information I learned felt like I was one step closer to understanding what is going on; why is this man after me and my son?

The gameplay is pretty fun. It’s smooth responsive, and relatively simple. I played on easy mode, and it is not really challenging at all (which is not a problem at all for me). I liked the Leviathan Axe, but for some reason the Blades of Chaos didn’t really click for me. Even though it’s the classic GoW weapon, I just kept returning to the axe.

I really didn’t like the crafting and buying system, and I kinda just barely crafted or bought things until the very end of the game. I just felt like I was always looting better equipment than I could craft/buy.

I thought most of the puzzles were great. They usually took like 45 seconds for me to figure out most of them, and if one took me a few minutes I’d just skip it because there are so many and I’ll find another one in a few minutes. I really liked this. I could attempt every puzzle and not care if I couldn’t get it because there are two more puzzles in the next room. Not every single one gelled with me, but most of the really tough ones were skippable. I’m sure a smarter person than me would’ve gotten more of them.

Every single actor/actress gave amazing performances. The people who play Kratos and Freya especially do such a great job portraying overbearing god-parents. Kratos’ transformation as a father is so drastic yet believable. Freya’s screams as she holds her dead son are haunting. Shoutout to Mimir too, for being the much needed comic relief.

I beat this game in about 30 hours. I attempted most puzzles, did all the dwarves’ favors, and did a bunch of other favors. The 20-28 hour range really dragged for me, but the story’s climax and payoff were completely worth it. All the revelations at the end were so meaningful because I’ve spent so much time and effort making it this far.

In all, this was a fantastic game. The story is the strongest aspect, but the gameplay is really fun and it all works together. Hopefully Ragnarok comes to PlayStation Plus at some point. I’ll definitely play it.

I've been playing this game since launch in 2015, and I still suck at it. Despite that, it's still so fun and I always end up coming back to play. It's one of those games for me where I can just play it and tune out while I listen to a podcast/album, or even watch TV. I just enjoy the moment-to-moment gameplay and the physics so much.

I don't know how it is now, but when I first started, I would get vehicle customizations unlocked after almost every match, so I didn't feel like I had to buy cosmetics.

I hope they bring back the football game mode. My friends and I thought that was a lot of fun.

Just to be clear, I only play casual game modes or 1v3s against bots if I'm watching a movie/TV show because I don't wanna screw over other people who care about the game haha.

Just replayed for the first time since around 2010. Still a lotta fun. I like that it only takes about five hours to beat. I think 5-10 hours is exactly how long a COD campaign should be.

Even though the story and writing are nothing special, the last scene where everyone is dying on the bridge still makes me so sad :'( RIP GRIGGS AND GAZ

Pretty fun collection of classic arcade games. I tried a handful over a couple hours, but Gauntlet was my favorite of the ones I played. I made it to level 32 before petering out.

I like the individual options for each game. It’s cool that you can easily remap the controls in every game. Each game gets its own volume setting which is appreciated.

The coolest thing about this collection is that each game has its own history section, so you can get a summary of the game’s development, interviews, images of the arcade machines, and things like that. It really feels like a museum for arcade games.

Will most likely return to try some other games!

I can't really explain why I chose to play this game today, but I actually enjoyed it for what it is: a children's game about cute talking dogs.

I liked the variety of dog types/breeds. I don't know how this game compares to similar ones, but there were 48 dog breeds to choose for your playable character, and there were different color choices for each breed. I don't know if there's an official association, but the models in this game reminded me of some stuffed animals I had when I was a kid. I think that's why I was so charmed by this game.

One thing that surprised me was how dark the story was. I only played for about an hour, but the premise is that your little sibling is sick, and your father seemingly disappeared/died in search of a cure. His condition worsened, and you, a CHILD, must sail to a dangerous island to search for a doctor and plead for him to sail back and treat him. It's not actually presented as drearily as I described (it actually has a very cute aesthetic), but man this game was a doozy for the get-go.

I like the barking/howling mechanic. Usually, you use the X button to talk to other dogs. If you're just roaming around, tapping the X button lets you bark, and holding X down makes you howl. I don't know if this is useful at any point or if it's just meant to be cute, but I like it.

Overall, this game is good if you're a child or an adult who will play anything. It's cute and it's easy. I doubt I'll continue this game, but who knows.

Was really enjoying this game until my Switch broke. Oh well.

This is my first Madden in a few years. I played a full season in Franchise mode playing offense only, using a custom-made QB. It took about ten hours to make it to the Super Bowl, and it was just so lame. The UI is wonky and glitches out. At certain points, the UI would just flash and stutter back and forth, it caused a headache when I played in the dark, and I wouldn't be surprised if this bug has the potential to cause seizures in some individuals.

There are no more alternative camera angles. You used to be able to customize the camera angle while playing, but that feature is gone. There seems to be no instant replay anymore either? How is that even possible?

The announcer lines are broken. My QB ran for an NFL record 2,200 yards and 30 rushing TDs. Once a quarter in the Super Bowl, my QB would go for a run of 20+ yards, and the announcer would say "Wow! With that run he has surpassed Lamar Jackson's QB rushing yards record". I did that in the regular season in like week 12 lol. They also kept saying the coaches were holding their breath every time the QB ran it. Like I get it, it's hard to program for these bizarre situations, but almost nothing else changes about these games year-to-year. I'd love if they started accounting for these crazy situations. If they can have those thousands of voice lines in Hades, then Madden can put a little more effort in than they currently do. And I only had the announcers on for the Super Bowl. EVERY other game I had them muted.

This is just such a step down from all the sports games I love. I hope something changes fundamentally in this genre, because almost everything released is utter garbage.

Positives? The animations are smooth. It looks authentic. That's really all I can muster. It kinda looks like the real thing, if you can look past the glitches, the terrible replays that don't show the full plays, and cuts off at weird moments.

And keep in mind I haven't even interacted with the predatory online features. What I've played is about as pure as Madden gets.

I'll go back to playing my modded NFL 2K5 roster. And when I get my Switch fixed I can continue my Retro Bowl career. Don't think I'll be coming back to this one.

Honestly, didn’t really enjoy this one. I didn’t like the sound design, the writing, or enjoy the gameplay. This would’ve been impossible for me to make any progress without a guide. Just not a game for me.

This is such a lovely game! It’s such a nice experience making your way to the peak the first time, then gliding down. I haven’t 100%’d this one, but I have a lot of feathers, and it’s nice to just flap around and see the island. There’s a lot more to do in this game than it initially seems!

One of my all time favorite games! The music is perfect for this game, and the game overall has so much atmosphere. Every level/hub area is so distinct, I still remember areas and levels YEARS after I played this in my childhood.

It plays so smoothly too. I can’t believe this game is almost twenty years old, because the movement is so fluid. My only issue with the controls is that the camera is inverted on the horizontal axis, and you can’t move the camera vertically at all. You can use your binoculars to get a closer look at things that are above/below you, but it’s kind of inconvenient.

The story is nothing special, but the characters are a lot of fun. Sly has fun banter with Bentley, and he and Carmelita Fox are also great together. I think they do slightly more interesting things with the characters in Sly 2, but this sets a solid foundation.

This game is probably a little too easy. Each enemy takes one hit to kill (to balance it, Sly also takes one hit unless he has a lucky charm or two), and it’s easy to time your attacks to avoid getting hit. I think I died more doing the platforming because I’m so clumsy. The boss fights are pretty easy too, although the final boss fight and the voodoo rhythm game boss fight are both pretty annoying.

I hope we get a Sly Cooper series remaster sometime soon. I would love for the camera controls to be improved. The original still holds up though!

Pretty fun little tycoon game. I love playing this while listening to music/podcasts or watching something. It’s just fun to click around and make a bunch of silly games. Once or twice a year I play this for an afternoon and have a good time.

It’s pretty barebones, which I personally like. It’s kind of like a game of CIV 5, where I’m just kinda going through the motions after playing it so many times. Every playthrough is similar, but no playthrough is exactly the same.

This game was surprisingly funny. I liked the way the story is told through the interrogation of Jesse Fox, and the scenarios get more silly and challenging as he exaggerates his experience. I also like that it lets you choose dialogue and what the scenarios are throughout the game. It makes a very basic stealth game parody story more unique, because I can make small choices as the game goes along.

The gameplay is pretty good as well. It reminds me of what the first two games felt like when I played them as a kid, but much smoother. I wish more games had this style of stealth gameplay.

Such a lovely game. I bounced off of this the first time back in 2019. Came back to it in early 2021 and put about 50 hours into it. I never finished it because I spent so much time just doing deliveries. I really just had such a nice time traversing the world, especially on foot.

The soundtrack is incredible and so fitting for the game. Some of my favorite moments are when you’ve been walking for almost an hour, spending all this time by yourself, and suddenly the camera starts to pan out and a song kicks in and it just allows you to take in the entire landscape. Although this game has so many intense and unsettling moments, the peaceful moments really stand out.
