you would think this would be the perfect haha funny movie game put down the controller but its still such a unique experience that you cant quite compare it to anything its like a must "play" for people interested in metal gear as a whole its more to love and has a great send off to the franchise even if V still exists after it

Another game i put as a favorite where the visual and gameplay side of things is hailed as top notch with no rebuttal but story wise is still a hot debate depending on who you ask, for me this game just pushed all the right buttons and delivered one of the craziest experiences yet in any type of media , it's cinematic wacky and funny yet heartwrenching painful and dramatic but above all else it's mindblowing in typical kojima fashion a true diamond of gaming.

The final 1 and a half hours is enough to make this a resounding 10 but kojima is kind enough to attach a fully playable 10 hour game with it, the game manages to take every core mechanic and aspect of the first game and just improve it by spades even if some of the controls and placements feel a bit tough to get used to once they click the game offers so much flexibility and fun while delivering an incredible story with amazing characters and also a timeless ending.

Having not grown up playing the original till very recently the remake is a step up in damn near every sense the only loss is the overall charm and personality of the original, the trade off is you getting one of most fun games ever made that you can burn hours on just for the combat alone.

spent more hours on the final boss on the hardest difficulty to get the damn mime skin than actually playing the entire game

the original trilogy is unique in its humor and aesthetic and themes and a crack in time manages to still have part of that soul while being a completely new take, as a kid i played this game countless times because the gameplay loop was addicting the story was fun and quite enjoyable even managing to pull my heartstrings a bit with the ending i hope insomniac captures this magic again in the future

This game being as divisive as it was and is shows me how much of a success it was because what it intended on doin was done perfectly, not everyone is able to come to terms with the final message of the game and that is precisely the point , the end of part 1 is practically universal because 9/10 times someone in joel's shoes would do no different than him and that was one of the reasons it was so powerfull but part 2 is equally if not more powerfull personally due to the direction it took , it still tried to pull the same trick as part 1 in putting you in a characters shoes to hopefully build a connection and in turn allow for some level of understanding to come in but unlike part 1 to me it felt like more of a test, a test to see if a person was someone that was more likely to be capable to deal with grief and loss of if they were more likely to have difficulties in letting go.
