One of the best entries in the saga.
Fun, clean level design, vibrant graphics and nice looking characters, in conjunction with a great OST. And the trademark silliness from this series. Is always fun to watch all the misfortunes poor Shantae has to face.
Still "The Pirate's Curse" remains as the best game, but this one gets pretty close.

"Mario Kart Definitive Edition"
And it has N64's Rainbow Road.
Seriously, this is one of the main choices for a party game when friends come to visit. Insane number of tracks, all of them beautifully designed (except the GBA ones, sorry), and a character for everyone.
Items also shine, as this game has one of the best selections of power-ups to get those funny/epic/infuriating moments.
So many fun memories.

It's a classic so I cannot deny its impact and goodness, but I didn't enjoy It so much. The limited saves you have (inks) are something vey annoying for me. I found myself following a walkthrough after a while (thing I hate to do) in order to traverse the mansion because I was afraid of screw things up, run out of ammo and health items just by running in circles and get stuck out of resources. I get is a SURVIVAL horror, but I prefer the modern approach to this great series.
Amazing writing and plot, on point humor (even better than in the main Borderlands series) and great voice acting.
Stupid and epic at the same time, with a cast of memorable characters and great moments.
I enjoyed this game even more than Borderlands 1, 2, The Pre-sequel and even The Walking Dead S1. For me, this is the best game from both companies.

I'm not gonna lie. I finished this on Normal difficulty back in the day and it was hell. When I saw that you needed to finish the game on Hard to watch the real ending, my child self was like "whaaaaaaa?".
Years later I did it with cheats. I don't care. The difficulty in this game is so cruel, arcade level. I think is way too much. I appreciate the cool ideas they implemented and the non-stop action, but after a while it gets really frustrating.
The first original Contra still remains as my favorite.

Dumb story, with many funny moments and so much charm. Any RPG with action battle commands is better for me than any boring, classic menu-based battle commands RPG, so this is a win.
It's incredible how they updated the graphics for this remake without changing the feel and style from the original game.
I also recommend to play the extra content, "Bowser's Minions". Is very fun and silly too.

This game had the "Dark Souls effect" on me: I hated my first approach to it. Beat a couple of bosses and then abandoned to never play it again 'cause it was so unfun... ...But when I engaged on a mission to finish every single game I started, I had to face it again, and I was so unhappy with the sole idea.
After a fresh start I played for two unpleasant hours and quit again until the next day. Then I came back and something started to snap. I started to see a "Megamanish" relation with every boss phase and every weapon (shot) you can get. From that point I felt more engaged with the game, and started to try a lot of different things. It started to look a little more strategic than pure random bullet madness. And every time I was exhausted, I just stopped, gave me a break, come back to it the next day, and bosses that were impossible at first, I managed to beat them in my first or second try.
It was nuts.
And with that I started to comprehend the rewarding felling the game gives you in so small doses. I started to worry less about how to defeat the boss, and spend more time appreciating the music, the art style, the ideas from which the developers took inspiration, and the whole package on itself. All of this elements are phenomenal, no doubt about it.
Finishing the base game was my objective in the beginning. In the end, I beat even the DLC and wanted to see more.
It takes a while to understand why this game is so popular and loved, and is not a game for everyone by any means, but once you get there, is a masterpiece.

Holy sh**t! I cant believe I sunk 155 hours into this thing.
Exploring the world is fun. The story is good, but the narrative is way too much animeish silly. And they expect for you to take it seriously anyway. If you don´t mind that, is a solid RPG. Oh! And we cannot forget that this monster originally ran on the Nintendo Wii , which is incredible.
By far the best characters are Melia and her (half?)sister. Even after the extra chapter I wish to see more from them, and less from the generic protagonist.
Prepare to hear the name "Shulk" and the word "Monado" like 52146 times.
