Just an alert, DO NOT PLAY THE INTERNATIONAL VERSION. The JP release is much more fair. Bosses don't take millions of hits to kill, their attacks are easier to avoid and overall it's paced much better. The shitty Twin-Freaks boss is still the bane of my existence though. He can go blow the rawest cock imaginable. Not a big fan of the schmup stages either, but apart from that it's excellent! Def gonna try to beat it legit one of these days (not the us localisation obv lmao).

Dynamite Headdy is one of those games that's just impossible to hate. I could just end the review there, but I still got some extra space to fill out so ummm

Lets start off with the visuals, and.. fucking hell, what to say? They are BEAUTIFUL. This may be the best looking game on the MD, everything is so colorful and full of life and detailed and, and, and! The toy aesthetic also allows Treasure to make some stunning set-pieces. Sometimes, in the middle of boss fights or levels, I would pause the game and just.. look it at. Jesus Christ, have you ever just looked at Dynamite Headdy?

The game is also incredibly charming. I've already talked about the visuals, but there are other things, like the stage names. Fly Hard, Twin Freaks, Stair Wars, Toyz in the Hood, Fun Forgiven, Illegal Weapon, Terminate Her Too, The Rocket Tier, it might seem like i'm making these up, but nope. They're so unfunny that they become funny again.

There is one massive problem for me though, and that's the difficulty. To put it into simple terms, this shit is brutal, especially the last few bosses (the laser machine and final boss weren't too bad though). Once the schmup level came around, I was already using save states compulsively. If I wasn't trying to finish it though, it wouldn't be a big problem since this game is just fun.

Overall, a definite classic with a difficulty level that's a bit too high for me. Maybe I should try the JP version, anything to help with that ball-bustingly hard twin freaks boss.

I’ve been playing with my CoC on and off for about 10 or so years now. I remember when it was relatively new, and all of my friends in middle school were hyping up their TH7 bases asking everyone to join their clans. That inner child in me will always love CoC for the memories of warm summer mornings checking my base on my iPod 5, but the more popular it got, the less accessible it became.

One thing that has truly ruined CoC is YouTube. There are way too many people with massive fanbases of impressionable children. The more popular they got, the more buying your way to the top became the norm. The only issue, though, is the fact that those YouTubers can afford it. The people who want to casually play this game, cannot.

I started a new base back in 2020 with the intention of reaching the top without ever spending a dime. I got to about Th9 until I realized that you really just can’t. If you have the patience to wait months to max out your base before upgrading then sure, you don’t have to spend money at all. But, the perks of something like Gold Pass is something that’s nearly mandatory. I know $6.99/mo. compared to the hundreds/thousands of dollars people spend in other free online games seems insignificant, but when the entire game is advertised as free and they start bombarding you with “TREASURE CHEST OF GEMS ONE HUNNID DOLLA!!!!” it starts to irritate me.

So I caved, and now I have Gold Pass. The abundance of spell books, builder potions, wall rings, etc. is great. Yet I have to live in shame knowing I’m paying money to play a mobile game faster. Not just faster, but at a tolerable pace. Speaking of the potions and spells, it takes WAY too long to upgrade ANYTHING after TH8. I believe they even had some huge update years ago where they reduced the time of upgrades, and plenty of things are over a week now. Not to mention how many troops there are to upgrade, how long they all take, and how expensive they all are. At least they made training troops free, it helps to farm.

I play this game a lot. Not as much as I used to, but I go through phases of how often I open the app. I guess my appreciation for CoC is more nostalgic than how fun the game is, but I wouldn’t play it at all if I didn’t find it fun. Attacking bases, upgrading your weapons and buildings, figuring out the best placement of your base, it makes for fun strategizing. The gradual movement of your placement in leagues or the different troops you use when you realize you’ve moved too far up to use an army you’ve grown accustom to, it’s just relaxing.

Unfortunately, CoC is practically pay to win. You don’t HAVE to, and it isn’t impossible to move up far without spending a dime, but the rewards that $6.99 can get you are too tempting, and important to the game, to pass it up. That’s a huge flaw. If you don’t pay for anything, it just takes forever. But, it’s incredibly fun at the style of play it aims to achieve. 7/10.

As a newcomer to the metal gear franchise, I really enjoyed the characters and story in this game. Another thing i thoroughly enjoyed was the boss fights in this game, they were all really good. The weakest in my opinion being the two sniperwolf fights. My only problem with this game is that it is severely outdated, the gameplay can be clunky at times and the game doesn't look the best. I understand mgs3 is the fan favourite but I think this game needed a remake over snake eater.

The writers have to be on crack or something. Who comes up with this dog shit? Every 5 seconds the main character asks 40 questions. Metal Gear? Liquid? D.A.R.P.A Chief? Second floor basement? My game fucking sucks? Shut the hell up already

The best utilization of co-op i have ever played! a real engaging experience with an incredible final act. I played with my dearest friend and it was a blast, would recommend :)

It is a miracle that I got to finish this brilliant game, and now people can stop bullying me because I haven't played it before.

My rating criteria for this game are games released in 2010 and prior.
I had so many technical difficulties. Even by the standards of that time, this game has so many bugs that softlock you, tons of crashes, and buggy graphics settings. Also, controls got bugged, and I couldn't press the ESC key at all. I had to Alt-Tab every time to pause the game. These technical problems made me finish the game in a week, in about 25 sessions.

However, the story was intriguing, and the horror elements were used in such an amazing way that I got scared of my own shadow multiple times. The library part was made because they hate us players and they want us to have a heart attack. Plus. I liked the funny Ulman jokes.

Oh, the ending was also crazy! Here is footage of me during the ending!

I always seemed to get lost in the sandbox aspect of the game and never got around to finishing the story, but today I finally finished the game in its entirety. This game is and always will be one of my favorites due to nostalgia but also for it being a product of its time. The physics and AI still rival and even outperform most games being released today. Now onto another GTA 5 playthrough :)

No mans sky is one of the few examples of a game that had a bad launch and actually made a recovery. Over the 8 years since the games initial release, no mans sky has received numerous free content updates containing a variety of new things to do which makes the game feel full of life. The story of NMS is nothing to write home about, it's a pretty generic scifi plot but that can easily be ignored due to how fun the gameplay is. All in all, no mans sky is definitely worth a play in 2024 thanks to its many free updates since launch which make for the definitive space exploration game.

Having to make my own decisions was a terrifying experience. I will never do it again. And before anyone asks, I did it, everyone! I fixed her! (I got the good ending)
It was one of the best visual novels I have ever played. Great voice acting, great story, and the voices in my head are accurate. It's impressive that they are still updating the game, and a big update that'll extend the game by 25% is on its way. It's also not a very long game; I finished it in 5 hours because I took my sweet time and wandered around.
There was a sequence where I refused to continue doing what I was told, and the game shut down after the entity told me, "I will be here when you are ready" or something. I was flabbergasted. Next time I opened the game, that same entity welcomed me, and I continued where I left off.
I just wished that the Voice of the Hero and the Narrator's voice wasn't so identical.
It is truly a unique experience and a must-play.

Started because of Phyllis. She gets me acting up every single time.
It took me 10 hours to realize I actually don't like farming/life sim games. Even though it was such an 'obstacle', I enjoyed it while it lasted. After a while, everything started to feel like a 'burden' rather than an enjoyable experience. Everything feels so tedious and messy that I couldn't even finish building my first bridge during this time.

A must-play if you like anything relating to squaresoft, or 90s rpgs. You are obligated to help giving this gem of a game the recognition it deserves.

This game kicks ass, its a sidescroller shooter mech rpg with lots of different possible playstyles, high end graphics for the snes, a great albeit somewhat repetitive soundtrack, a colourful cast of characters, and most importantly, its just really fun. Your Wanzer (in universe name for mechs) has this weight and feel unlike most platformers that just feels so satisfying, and since its an rpg, you'll get stronger, more mobile and more capable. It takes a bit to get the wheels rolling, but still emerges as one of squaresoft's best 90s releases, yet unfortunately remains one of their most obscure and underappreciated games as well.

Best DLC of BL1. It is short but absolutely fun. Killing Claptraps was nice and the quests are rather enjoyable other than Tannis' quests. And finishing this DLC marks the end my BL1 journey. It was fun while it lasted but I don't think I will ever visit this game again, because I have BL2 ffs...

Sonic adventure 2 is everything a sequel should aspire to be. The levels, bosses, writing, characters, and story are all greatly improved upon in this game. For a start, the levels in this game are all really great. Each one has its own charm to it and city escape is probably one of the best opening levels of all time. My one complaint is the grind railing in the last level, it's often clunky and very difficult to platform on. I liked that Sega cut down the stories from 7 to 2, I think it makes for a nicer game to play and not feeling like it's starting to drag. Another thing that makes the game a bit nicer is the lack of the hub world, in sa1 it was fun at the start but by the time you played the 7 stories it was just a burden to get through. I liked the knuckles/rouge stages more in this game than sa1, not sure why though. One thing I will say is there are TOO many fucking eggman/tails levels, like am I playing a sonic game or am I playing armoured core. I really think they could have cut down on these and put more sonic/shadow levels in. There's only 4 shadow levels in this game which sucks because Shadow's my favourite character (if you couldn't tell already from my previous reviews). This game is also a great introduction to shadow, it shows the kind of character he is, and his backstory and motives with maria which makes for a touching story. Whilst being stupidly easy like the first game the bosses in sa2 are still all really good, it's clear that a lot of thought was put into each and every one of the fights. The music is absolutely superb which is no suprise for a sonic game, each track is extremely iconic and memorable. One complaint I have is that sometimes it was like I was watching a fucking christopher Nolan movie with how atrocious the audio mixing is, half the time the only reason I know what they are saying is because I'm reading the subtitles. Overall, despite some minor flaws sonic adventure 2 is still one of the greatest games ever made and extremely worthy of 5 stars.
