celeste probably could've done a better job presenting the DLC as a superfan bonus thing and not like Main Content. a lot of people definitely just played ch1-8, beat the main game in like 10 hours and enjoyed their time with it. the game doesnt really warn you that the DLC is way harder and longer than literally every B/C-side, and doing those will easily add a lot of extra playtime

Yeah, that was exactly my issue with it. I remember playing it and being like WHY won't this END (and WHY is this ENDING so BAD) and then I looked online and like the last few hours of what I was playing had been DLC, and I was like ... oh
