Criminally underrated RTS/sim game. This is one of the most charming games I’ve ever played. It’s also really beefy. Lots of content and customization options. My only complaints is the controls can be a bit stiff and the ost is a bit repetitive. This game is on steam and last I checked it was still affordable on Wii so give it a shot

This game is painfully underrated. It is one of the best games I've ever played. It has so much to do and it all feels extremely polished and fun. This game has grown to mean a lot to me. It has a sort of slow start, but it only gets better and better. It is very similar to Pikmin in playstyle but also has the content you'd expect from a usual LOVE-de-LIC adventure game. It was easy for me to play nothing but this game for 2 entire weeks, I could never get enough of it. So yeah, I highly recommend this game to just about anyone, but I do not recommend playing the Steam version, as it is very bugged and nearly unplayable.

Way more than just a pikmin-like

Command your little army, expand your little kingdom, levy your little taxes. At first glance this game seems pretty small and kiddy but it goes deep and has something like 20-30 hours of content. The premise of this game is that you start ruling a dinky little kingdom and by the end you will build up a massive empire and it delivers on this concept fully.

This game is packed tight with bosses, city building, side quests, a seamless interconnected world, polygamy, secret wizards, and more. To top it all off it has some really genuine charm and humour, it reeks of Love-de-Lic, to put it mildly.

It's by no means a perfect game, the controls are imprecise and the systems are often cryptic, and some of the in game hints even give terrible advice. Even so, nothing could stop me from getting sucked into this little world, and it would not let me go until I had completely conquered it.

The best game no one has ever heard of. Absolute must. Beautiful art style, cute characters, kind of weird but funny jokes that aren't exactly for kids, beautiful music. The gameplay is an rts pikmin but with city building as you slowly conquer the world. Make sure to watch the intro movie. Don't want to talk too much about all it. Just play the game.

Currently replaying the gog version to see how that plays. No issues with bugs so far. Will update after playthrough is finished. Wii version works fine, Vita has bad anime art style replacement.
Update: GOG version breaks around the 3rd king. Nice to have all the ingame artwork though. Replayed on Wii U instead.
Too bad the company closed less than a year after the game was released.

My 2nd favorite game of all time after Super Mario World.
11/10

Is there a term for like, a slightly obscure piece of media you consider to be a masterpiece, so much so that you tell all your friends about it for over a decade? Because i'm that babey

Pikmin meets highway robbery meets town manager meets me coming to your house holding up the case of this game at your window!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty good game! Has a very slow beginning comparative to later in the game, but that's only because the start of the game is good when the latter half of the game is REAAALLLLY good. Gets compared a lot to Pikmin, but I'd say they're really only similar on a superficial level, one similarity they do have though is that both are really fucking good. It's Pretty Good.

My feelings on this one shifted a lot throughout the game. I was really enjoying myself in the beginning. It felt really nice controlling Samus in this game, which was one of my main issues with Super Metroid, that the controls felt a bit clunky. Here they worked really well, although I wish that you would keep your ground speed when jumping, which was something Super Metroid had. I felt like the level design was pretty suited to the game. In Super Metroid, you had a map, which meant that you could make the game very big without having to worry about the player getting lost. Metroid II has no map, and therefore it is much more fitting to have the game being more linear, which it also is. This game is incredibly linear compared to basically all other Metroid games. But it works because of its limitations. I also really enjoy the main premise of this game. In Metroid II, you are basically committing genocide on a planet's population of Metroids. Your goal is simply to kill them all. And you have a counter at the bottom, which helps you keeping track on how many Metroids are left to kill. The game starts off pretty easily, but has a pretty smooth difficulty curve, which towards the end turns into a difficulty spike. The final four metroids and the final boss are without a doubt the hardest parts of the game, which is as it should be, I guess. And this was the point where I was getting a bit frustrated in the game. It all worked out in the end, though, because after countless tries, I finally defeated the final boss, which was incredibly satisfying and kept that mood until the end of the game. And that is a really important thing. It's ok for a video game to frustrate you as long as you feel that reward after the struggle. There were some things I disliked about the game, like some rooms being way too long, but ultimately I felt like this was a really good game. Possibly even better than Super Metroid, but I'll have to replay that game on the original console to see how I feel about that. For now, this stands as a great Metroid game!

Runs like molasses down a hill on a mid-winter day.
