Before I get into this, I haven't done lady/trish's story yet so maybe I'll alter this review a little.
I had high hopes for this game, considering how much of a masterpiece DMC 3 was. To be honest, Nero is a great character and I loved playing as him. The first 11-12 missions were fun, though I wasn't really a fan of the enemies in general, they felt bland to me bar a few of course. The problem for me was when I started to play as Dante. While the character change is understandable, he clearly was not built for this game and not to mention Dante's missions just consisted of him backtracking through the exact same levels Nero went through.
It doesn't help that Dante's devil arms are absolute garbage in this game either, I'm not a big fan at all. Except from pandora I guess.
The bosses are awful in this game, except from Dante and maybe Credo. You fight some of the same bosses THRICE and they made NO effort to even change them up a little so it's really disappointing. Biggest disappointment regarding bosses was the last boss, it was an absolute joke and through finishing the game, I felt absolutely no satisfaction whatsoever.
That's not to say I didn't find half of the game fun though and as I've mentioned, Nero was a blast to play as. I just wish it could have stayed that way somehow because the enemies, bosses and level design is incredibly lazy in this game. I wish there was more time put into this game because it could have been a lot better.
And honestly, if I want to run through the game again, I'll probably just stick with Vergil lol.

Honestly, I'd really want to type up a long review on this game but out of spite, I'm giving it 4 stars.
Why? Because quite frankly, as petty as this is going to be, Eirika really dragged the story down. Ephraim's story is wonderful and as a character, he could carry the whole game on his back as the Protagonist.
Eirika however? Dumb, bland and boring. I never want to see her again because it's a fumble
