Honestly the best game I've played in a long time. It's so simple, but everything feels great, the feel, the visuals, the audio down to the inputs for strategems is just art.

It's the first game I've played in a long time and used a mic with strangers. The cosplaying as Starship Trooper esq numbskulls is amazingly fun, my mission to slowly introduce Gamers to communism through performing as a dumb soldier is joyous.

One of my favourite things is my obliviousness to the meta, I don't want to know the best gun, I don't want to know about builds and fast tracks to levelling etc. I want to know nothing, so entering a mission this morning and finding I had a mech was fucking sick. I just wish YouTube would stop trying to serve me videos on Helldivers 2

It's fine. Real turn your brain off fun. Probably would have been much better in coop

Act 1
Fuck Fahz, fascist scum.
Fucking JD too! WTF
Lizzzzziiieee!!! No!!!

Act 2
"I got em, I got the fascists" - Little boy
Seeing Oscar is cool
Wtf, I'm locust/swarm!? Bye Oscar I guess
JD is a prick now huh
Open world is bad

Act 3
Yay Paduk
So JD and Fahz are coming to Judas Kait right?

Well the above was just random trail of thought as I played. Other than the boring spaces in the open world, all of the combat scenarios are a lot of fun. I love this group of characters and the relationship between Kait and Del. I can't wait to see the sequel and see how they used what they've used what they learnt from feedback on the open world.

I don't know why I'm surprised. This game is great, the new characters are fun and it's really nice hearing JD and Marcus winding each other up.

Also Ancoms for the win!

But the gameplay feels even better, I really like the DBs and the feel of the Lancer . Bring on 5

I adored this little gem. Just a fascinating little creation that dropped me straight into a perfect, lived in little world. No exposition dump, no reasoning, just 'do your job' and it's perfect for it.

I originally gave this 4 stars but as I think about it I've changed to 5 because I think it done everything it set out to do perfectly well. I love the Beastiary feel and the growing dread that comes with each day.

Highly recommend people spend the 2 or so hours checking this out

Absolute perfect game for me. I cannot wait for a sequel. I've nothing clever to say other than play it, it's on gamepass

What an absolute joy. I'd recently played a lot of elden ring which was my first souls like I finished. With this coming out on gamepass I had to give it a go and I loved every moment.

I love fighting dude sized dudes, it has a real duel feel as opposed to fighting monsters (granted there's amazing monster fights too). Also the setting is great

I think this game gets a bad rap. The control changes were tricky after playing the first 3 games in a row but I really enjoyed the short mission structure. It had a real arcadey feel, especially with the classified mission parameters which were in general all interesting.

Again meeting new characters was lots of fun and I enjoyed the framing device, using the squads testimony as a way to play.

Also the Aftermath chapter was fine, nothing really stood out but it felt great nonetheless

Well what a treat. This is probably the gears I remember the least of but it plays like a brand new game and again the character writing gets better.

The lambent are extremely fun to fight and it's great getting to switch up delta squad a little. Not to mention the Dom scene and the Mad World cover. Again, it got me good

Getting back with these characters and seeing the seeds of character development if really fun. Finding Maria in 2023 is just as hard hitting as in 2008.

The additional enemy types, weapons and ability to "command" are all great additions

I mean it's a classic for a reason. The story doesn't do much really, it's is just big meaty men slapping meat but my god does the meat slap well.

The headshot crunch is still one of the most satisfying sounds in gaming

Ouch.
That hit extremely hard

The choice to be just text lets you, the player fill in the blanks. I see all my failed relationships in the game, the slow breakdown of a relationship that should have ended sooner.

That was great

I'm still nowhere near the end but I'm having a ridiculously great time with it.

After Elden Ring, last year I went back and 2022 was the year of The Surge and I played them both back to back and loved them.

This year is the year of Nioh. I'll be lucky if I get to the sequel this year though, this first game seems huge so far.

Fuck yeah, I one shotted the spider queen! That giant on the bridge was a pretty sick fight too, I was able to master partying with him and whittle him down to about 10% health, then the fucker fell off the bridge.

What a perfect little game. All 3 endings are great and weird in the best way. This is a major vibes game, a lot of great environmental story telling and it's actually laugh out loud funny at times.
