I really enjoyed the DS and Wii NSMB games, but my excitement for 2D Mario platformers fell hard after those titles. I was skeptical at first when Nintendo showcased the initial trailer for Mario Wonder, but as they continued to feed us more of the game, my concerns dwindled.

Come October 20th, I could not put the game down at all. It was an absolute blast to play through! So much personality in terms of the animations, the general look and feel of the game, the music and sounds are wonderful, pleasant variety of stages and aesthetics, the Wonder Effects are super enjoyable, and so on.

Stages can feel short but it's probably for the best. You may find yourself needing to replay stages for the three big Flower coins, Wonder Seeds and secret exits.

Biggest roster of playable characters in a 2D Mario. Would've been great if characters like Wario or Rosalina were also present, but can't complain, we got FOUR Yoshis (I love Yoshi).

The online multiplayer is interesting, reminds me of Soulsborne titles in some ways. Playing with others online makes the game cheese-able (become ghost, touch other players/standees to revive), but I really enjoyed seeing others move around on the world map and the light communication we're able to do with other players.

My only real gripe with the game is the lack of variety in bosses. I feel that this game would've been the perfect opportunity to actually have the Koopalings lol

Can confidently claim this title as my favorite Switch game in general, really just enjoyed it a lot. Thanks Mario
