Horrible people behind making this game who mocked trans suicide rates and the like.
Also just a very mediocre game.
Just play temtem.

While I wouldn't suggest you play this over a lot of other games I rated so highly, pretty sure for it's free price and how short it is, the experience it offers is quite good for minute to game aspect of a pretty memorable little thing, and when I say short, I mean VERY SHORT.

Great gameplay with skill trees that push it well past souls-likes, fun bosses, and overall just a nice comfort game weirdly for me.

You'll be going through a mythologicalized version of Japanese history (the rise of Ieyasu with a bit of personalized story), going through major events and trying to get your guardian spirit back.

Level based so you can replay them on a whim, also very gear based as well, a diablo like loot system that doesn't require too much thinking outside of clearing your inventory of the lesser stuff every once in a while.

Quite a few different types of weapons that each have their own skill tree.

I'd advise you play it with a weapon and also either ninjutsu or onmyo, switching whenever you get your mystic art of said weapon, ninjutsu and onmyo are such important boosts to combat, like sloth (slows enemy hit with it down), or the ninjutsu ability to revive after death.

This game is more of an experience, but it's a game that thrives in that (at least till you get near the end and want it to end). But yeah, this game has AMAZING presentation in it's art design, music, and so forth.

One strength to this game is that it often changes the how of what you're doing, constantly changing things up to add a lot of variety to the game. This is not much of a replay-able game, but just save it before the final choice to get the multi ending achievements (very easily achievable)

Just a charming small game that'll last you for a handful of hours.

Once you no longer fear the encounters, the game becomes a boring follow the object walking simulator that drags too long.

2016

If you're a weeb and are fine with bite sized, this world is just super interesting and makes me want to cosplay it (not enough to fully commit cuz it's such a small project, but almost). Dragons are humanoids that have specific powers unique to them that aren't like "i shoot fire, I shoot ice, well I shoot lightning" but even can go onto a conceptual level, mystery, relationship (not romantic) bonding between characters, etc. Miwashiba's fictional worlds have all the charm in the world, this is my favorite in that regard I'd say so far of what I've played.

"Go grab these 3 things" the game, at first the game isn't too bad, but it's just a game of it's time, in a very generic "of it's time" way. The game design of this video game will make you want to quit the game after you make progress then realize you need 3 more things to continue on, rinse repeat. Just boring and soul wrenching.

Mixes kingdom management with tactics with a cast of very charming characters and wacky hijinks, I really like this game and especially the iconic vampire. Overall pretty genre breaking.

Super charming game that doesn't have enough of it's charm to fill out it's gameplay, I like what's there, but a lot of what's there is repeated. Super charming art.

4th wall breaks and unique mechanics make this game from the dev of The Hex and Inscryption a must play as well.

2016

For it's free price tag, there is a lot of cool atmosphere and mystery to this game with pretty character design. VERRRRRYYYYY short but free.

Great genre breaking game that does a lot with said genre. Also the combat is interesting as you have to learn enemies tells and timings, and how you avoid it with a mix of ducks, jumps, blocks, and timed parries. Go in blind and play through the game, there are plenty of surprises in it for ya. Also a lot of platforming.

I might be dumb for liking the gameplay loop of this so much, despite it just being weird meme shit on top of pong, and shooting fireballs and stuff, but I did, pretty damn unique.

More production value and larger scale, the strength of this and the 2nd game area lso very much built off of playing the three in order and transferring your choices over. Play this trilogy.
