Bio
I am an enjoyer of all things Souls. A good challenge is usually enough for me to try a game. I also appreciate the art, music, and level design and am a huge sucker for a grand boss fight.

Hollow Knight is such a charming and beautiful game. It's world and art style are stunning. The lore behind the world is incredible and had me hyper-analyzing every little detail of every area in the game. The way the music perfectly meshes with the gameplay and levels gives me goosebumps. Thinking back to my first playthrough getting to the final boss and hearing that theme play when entering the second half of his fight is almost unmatched. While not every boss is a banger, they remain at a very consistent quality with some stellar standouts. Missing out on this game is a complete disservice to yourself if you enjoy Metroidvania style games. Please play this if you haven't, you won't regret it.

A culmination of everything Fromsoft has made. Elden Ring has the greatest open world I have ever explored. It felt like I could go to basically any corner of the map and find something cool. This game has more bosses than almost every other Fromsoft game combined at a staggering 165 bosses. When you have this many bosses, you are gonna have a LOT of stinkers. There is a lot of bosses that are just the same boss but somewhere else on the map or just enemies in a room. This is a bit contentious with some fans but it didn't really bother me too much as there was still plenty of unique bosses and getting to refight a lot of bosses to try out different weapons/builds without needing to go through another playthrough was very nice. The world and lore might be the best I have ever explored and has me coming back regularly just to experience it again and again. While the bosses may seem like a downgrade from DS3, they have more depth than ever before. While I still like DS3 bosses better, ER bosses are great. Difficulty in this game is very oblique due to the variety of builds and spirit summons (mimic tear). So when players are confronted with an insurmountable challenge, there is always an easier avenue a player can take that can trivialize most if not all bosses. This doesn't really bother me since I still enjoyed most bosses just using my swords and rolls. Either way, this game can be enjoyed as a tried and true RPG or as a souls game with a high level of mastery. One of the greatest games of all time and a must play for anyone who loves RPGs.

This game is almost perfect. It's another Fromsoft title but I can't in good faith compare it to the other games as it plays so differently. My first time playing this game was rough because I was trying to play it like Dark Souls; Genichiro taught me real quick it wasn't gonna be like any of those games. Sekiro has the best sword combat I have ever played. The level of mastery you can display against each of these incredible bosses is awe-inspiring and has me coming back just to experience them all over again. The story is very serviceable with 4 very distinct endings. A lot of the NPCs can end up being bosses and if you make the wrong choice, you can cut the game a bit short as I did on my first playthrough. This gave me incentive to play it again even if it was a bit annoying to cut my playthrough short by selecting another ending. On replay getting to refight bosses that initially gave me trouble and just flawlessly defeating them through raw skill is unmatched. There's probably about 2 main bosses you could consider 'bad' and the rest are pretty much flawless. If you love a challenge and are a fan of the games setting/style, you should absolutely give this one a try.
