I understand that the game uses predatory gacha tactics. I understand that the story telling is boring. I understand that the quests are long and tedious. I understand that there's no endgame. I understand that artifacts are awful. So why do I play this game every day? Because it's fun. Exploring Teyvat, finding chests, oculi, challenges is some of the most fun exploration I've played in any (non metroidvania) game. The characters, though at times one note and boring, are all close to my heart. The gameplay, with the broken ass reactions all working in tandem is so incredibly fun. The lore, needlessly complex and drip fed so slowly that most people check out just makes me yearn for more. Even the repetitive grinding for materials just pulls me in day after day. I love this game, flaws and all.
Sea of Stars is easily one of the best games I've ever played. Incredible art design, the environments especially are absolutely incredible. I don't like 90% of turn based RPGs, but Sea of Stars has some of the best combat I've seen in any RPG. The music. Oh my fucking god the music. Every single song in this soundtrack is fucking amazing. The story was also fucking amazing, made me feel many spoilery emotions that I will not elaborate on. Play this game, please.
