oh my peakkkkkk peakkkkk peakkkkkkkkkikiiiiikkkkkkkk 6 month development time btw

A great game muddied by a HORRENDOUS combat system. While I can see why some would not be much of a fan of this game as a send off to kiryu’s story due to the lack of returning characters or other elements that would make it feel like a true finale, I think what is here is nice and still enjoyable in its own right. Basically all of the new characters are at the very least memorable, and the villains are arguably some of the best in the series imo. A lot of the substories are great too, and having all of them be fully voice acted gives a lot memorability to them.

It’s really a shame about the upgrade system and combat, however. The upgrade system is bloated as shit with barely anything feeing substantial, and to get all of the upgrades at the end you better have done a shit ton of clan battles to even have the cash to buy the training items for it. Even disregarding the level system though, the combat just feels off. Heat actions are less prevalent in favor of extreme heat mode and kiryu’s core moveset is different and isn’t very satisfying to control. Also the rag doll physics aren’t very funny after like, the 3rd battle. Not to mention it’s also very easy, I’d get pumped at many points before an important boss fight only for it to be over in a matter of seconds due to how they all only have one bar of health barring a single fight near the end.

Overall, I still enjoyed Yakuza 6 and while I’d probably have it near the bottom of my rankings from what I’ve played (only slightly above yakuza ps2 as well as kiwami being in a distant last place), I still enjoyed my time with it. If the combat was better, I could probably see it being one of my favorite entries in the whole series.

story was epic I give it a chitose/10

i remember being eligible to buy a game from club Nintendo and I chose this over kid Icarus uprising and animal crossing new leaf after going back and forth on what to chose solely because it had Mario in it

it’s alright

Pretty good game for both Phineas and Ferb and Where’s My Water? fans but there was no congratulations screen for beating the game so I feel kinda let down ngl

P.S: I’m still a genius

idk guys I thought it was ok

I could nitpick this game and it’s predecessor to death but I can’t help but adore both of them so much. Xenoblade 2 in particular just fills me with a sense of joy every time I play it and no anime tropes or any other common complaints have been enough to ruin it for me. While I definitely agree some are valid, I feel like a lot of them are overblown. If you are a fan of the first one, or JRPGs in general, you should definitely give it a chance.

WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!

liked it a lot more this time than I did on my last playthrough but tiny huge island is still godawful and I probably still prefer most of the other 3d Marios lol

Switch version is very good and probably now the best way to play Pikmin 1 due to the crushing glitch seemingly being fixed finally. Unrelated to the version specifically, Pikmin 1 is still really fun even after finishing the sequels that I consider to be better than it and I’m glad the series is finally getting the spotlight it’s deserved for so long.

P.S for first time players: be absolutely sure to destroy the egg in the Distant Spring before it disappears after Day 15, there’s a nice reward that should make your playthrough a whole lot nicer

Only reason this isn’t a 5 is because I haven’t replayed it and whenever I decide to do so I think it will fully determine how I feel about it as a whole and how it compares to the other games. My favorite part about this series is replaying the main story to get a lower day count and just generally optimizing playthroughs and the way Pikmin 4 is structured (similarly to 2) makes it seem like there is not much incentive or fun to be had with trying to do that here. I could be wrong though, and I still had an amazing time playing it on my first playthrough. This is my most anticipated game ever and while I’m happy just for the fact that it’s fun and we have new Pikmin content in general, im really thankful that this series seems to be finally getting the recognition it has deserved for so so long.

See you guys in 2034 when Pikmin 5 finally launches.

...eh. It’s ok, I just don’t really like it. My experience was probably soured on it due to playing it right after P5 (my first megaten game) and having to adjust to what I consider pretty dated gameplay. But even after playing all of modern persona and multiple mainline games, I just don’t really think it’s for me. I think the pacing was pretty bad and I hated the gameplay and found Tartarus very boring. Social Links ranged from like 2 good ones to the rest being either boring or insultingly bad. And the story and main cast, while decent, is still just kinda meh. In comparison to other rpgs I’ve played, it isn’t anything special imo. Something I don’t really understand is why this game is specifically praised in comparison to 4 and 5 because most issues I have with those games, I have with 3 as well. Overall I can see why people like Persona 3, I just don’t think it’s for me personally.

I’m really putting this at the same rating as Yakuza 0 huh

Edit: this review is outdated as I have now given yakuza 0 a higher rating but rest assured you this game is still good

Can’t think of a single game from its time period that has aged as wonderfully as punch out. Compared to almost all other NES games, it doesn’t take cheap tactics to extend the game’s length and solely relies on the player’s skill to learn and adapt to their opponent. Awesome game

They made Mario Party good again what the fuck
