It's pretty good. Some bosses are utterly broken but it's mostly good fun. Good variety of weapons, biomes, enemy types. Narrative is very forgettable but it's a coop game at heart.

The game is extremely middle of the road. It has okay atmosphere, okay gunplay, and okay narrative. The main issue is that the game is largely boring to play and never seems to reach a point where the narrative and gameplay tensions meet.

I remember waking up to the trailer and going "Holy fuck what?". Because at this point, I was convinced that we were not going to get a new Half Life game and then Alyx came out.

And it's the best VR game. And it's also Half Life 3. It's amazing that even 13 years after Episode 2. I wanted to be immersed in this universe again. Not many series can do that.

It's Half Life 2. It revolutionized the industry.

Half Life, in my opinion, doesn't hold up anymore. But that's what Black Mesa is for. If you stay the original, I think it's better overall, but for newer players I know it can be a lot.

"What about a person? Can a person be haunted?"

You wanna hear something pretentious?

This isn't just one of the best games ever made. It's one of the best 'things' ever made. If you want a game that will just leave you absolutely shellshocked, this is it.

If you thought that Disco Elysium was good. This is better. It's also harder to get into though. Disco Elysium is fully-voiced and fairly transparent in what it's trying to do. Pathologic 2 is a game that won't make sense ever, and that's just kinda how it is.

This is a game about surviving and curing the plague. But that's just the surface. It's about family, community, all of those common themes. But then the game just throws in that you can't save everyone, at least not without knowing what you're doing.

And well. You won't know what to do because you've never played a game that is like Pathologic 2. You're gonna die. It's part of the journey.

A new expansion is out this year as well.

I don't know how to review a game that shaped my taste in games. Call Of Pripyat is easily one of the best open-zoned shooters and I think it's essential alongside Half Life for anyone getting into PC gaming.

It's a perfect send off to Dark Souls. It explores the themes laid out in Dark Souls 1, but has fun with it's world like in 2. Plus you can't say that you also didn't lose your shit when the Soul Of Cinder started using Gwyn's moveset. That was great.

And the Ringed City is arguably essential as it is the true ending to the series. Don't skip it.

It's odd to say that a Rockstar game has some of the best writing (at least when it comes to characters). But it's true. It's the writing paired with the slow deliberate core gameplay loop that place you in the boots of a cowboy during the last days of his gang.
