The perfect hack and slash! It not only features an amazing cast of characters but also doesn't take itself too seriously at all, which I feel most games do way too often. Most games would have a brooding protagonist based on what happened in Dante's life but the game realizes that everyone handles grief differently. This is truly a story about grief and loss but also about finding oneself and they do a good job with putting a veil of humor over it. Dante distracts himself with problems in the human world while Vergil does the opposite to avoid thinking about what they have both lost, only difference is that lady was there to show Dante the error in his ways and to not distract himself. This game made one of the greatest gaming franchises into what it is today. The only thing I gotta mark it down for is its lack of weapon switching but that's fixed in later versions. Overall, one of the best games of all time!!

If I gotta start off this review with one thing it's that I'm a sucker for a good hypothetical. Another way to describe it is moral questions. This game, in my opinion, offers a very good moral quandary. Not only does it do that but it also tells an amazing story that leaves you seeing the beauty and ugliness in so many things in life. It's truly a game that lets you question things about yourself and others. How far will a human go for something he loves whether it's organic or inorganic? Alive or dead? Does it really matter if they're not hurting anyone? All things said and done, I like this game a lot.

It was a decent game that has vestiges of a great game in it. Honestly, the combat is really fun but the input delay or rather buffering is honestly the only thing holding this back from being a really good game. The lore is interesting and the boss battle is very hard but at some points that a good thing! Again, the input delay holds this game back HARD. other things are just small things for me. The use of mechanics not being used that much makes me slightly irritated. Like, seriously why put in the parry feature if I can't even parry HALF the bosses. The DLC however is dope Af tho so that's cool. Also, I feel the game has a problem with using its creativity. In some areas, they have really cool ideas, like the grand archives and the undead settlements. Along with cool bosses like Lorian and the pontiff they have some cool ideas but i feel dragonslayer could have been cooler than just some armor with no one in it. That parts just me tho. Overall, a game that could have been better but I still recommend it.
Amazing game all the way through but I would have just preferred a longer experience. The final fight should be the halfway mark and it would have been even greater. I also feel that when attacking it didn't feel like I was hitting things with an 80-pound sword. That was my only gripe with the game however.

Honestly a great game with debatably the best character writing in the series (P2:EP might beat it). It's an amazing soundtrack that features lotus juice and although I can't understand what he's SAYING, it still bangs! Gameplay in fine if you can just anticipate some dumb moves on the A.I.'s part. That's honestly the only thing dragging it down. If this game were to be remade with the P5 combat then this would easily be a 5/5 review. Junpei is King.
