Most of the flaws with the former entries have been ironed out, weapon grinding is gone, the cyber elves are streamlined, now there’s a ton more customization options that let you go crazy with the combos later into the game, level design is top notch, harkening back to the X games, and the story I think is pretty compelling for Mega Man standards. My biggest complaint is how sporadic the bosses are. Especially with how long the levels are, without the Zero Collection’s save-assist feature, it’d probably be frustrating to make it all that way just for the boss to eat up your lives and force you to have to do it all again for another chance to even just see it’s patterns again.

For the most part an improvement on the first. It still has the first game’s weapon level grinding and cyber elf system, but they’ve been streamlined this time around, so they’re far more manageable. Only real downstep is how the level design chooses to double down on cheap enemy placements and instakill hazards, the whole Polar Kamrous stage can get bent. And I’ll admit I’m kind of terrible with the grappling hook. But with the return of a proper continue system like in Mega Man games of the past, it isn’t quite as unforgiving as it was before.

The thing about playing this after other Fallouts is that you easily notice certain flaws; the map having little places to explore, skills like hacking and repair relying on rolls meaning you don't have to level them up and can just re-attempt infinitely, etc. But what you get in exchange is genuinely one of the hardest atmospheres I've seen in any game period, it is such an extreme feeling of desolation and loneliness even for Fallout standards, combined with the story and timer giving you anxiety just for existing. It's an imperfect but really unique experience and I'm glad I finally played it.

The part-time jobs are such a huge buzzkill for me and make things drag too much; I know that's the point but I hate it. I liked the gameplay otherwise - but I don't know if I'll ever come back to this.

Just get the remaster of the original, because holy shit, it's literally the exact same as the original game. You're literally paying full price for a game that's nearly identical to the original except it looks slightly prettier, i guess.

The only new things in this remake that weren't in the original are accessibility options, and.... that's it. Most pointless remake ever made.

A game I know isn't perfect, but I don't care. It's perfect in my eyes. No More Heroes is a great hack-n-slash game with gratifying visuals, visceral combat, and a supremely interesting story that has a lot for both people that want a fun, simple adventure, and people that want a deep, profound narrative.

The game has a lot to say about how witnessing death can change you as a person, and it's firstly disguised as a goofy action game. This and the director's previous game "killer7" heavily influenced me as a teenager and what I look for in a video game's story.

The Wii version is the most authentic experience, but the Switch version is mostly competent while sporting a better framerate. PC version is very rough and doesn't even include kb+m controls.

Holy shit I should've played this game when it released last year in 2023.

Hi fi rush is a huge departure from tangos previous works by being a Rythym hack and slach game that takes elements from Guitar hero and mixing them into a blender with a hint of Devil may cry and Jet set radio and what do you get?

One of the most FUN action games I've played in a very long time. Seriously in a era of endless rehashes of various franchises this game felt like a breath of fresh air that Harkens back to 00s cartoons all while having beautiful artstyle and goated ost to compliment it.

Seriously PLAY THIS GAME.

if youre marathoning the mm games, i can see this entry being pretty weak, the burnout would have hit pretty hard by this point
it doesnt do much different or even necessarily better than previous games for the most part, but it does look and control damn fine while doing it. theres still plenty of classic mega man annoyance, and some very frustrating bosses, but i never found it enough to ruin the experience. the animated cutscenes are also quite the treat (with the undub hack)
after giving this game up for years, it finally grew on me

Dead Rising 3 lost pretty much everything that was good about the series to begin with. Lots of people never understood the appeal, but it was always about time management, familiarizing with the environment, goofy humour and exploration.

This game just throws all of that out of the window. The time is ridiculously generous to the point where I wasn't even sure there was a timer running for most of the game and barely mattered. I fucked around a lot and still did every single sidequest without really trying too hard. It felt like I was working off a list instead of frantically trying to rescue as many people as possible.

The game also just throws items, combo cards and even cars at you. While in the other games it was a powerful moment to get permanent access to a car, they're now everywhere and readily available. Even combo cars that wreck a whole district worth of zombies.

It also doesn't help that every single collectible is shown on the map. Just randomly entering buildings and stores feels like a waste of time since you can tell where the next item is lying anyway. Fun and random side activities like the casino are also gone. The game still has it's funny moments, but they're so far and few between that they feel even more out of place than before. Also really wasn't a fan of the soundtrack in this game. The psychopath themes and mall music were always a real delight to listen to and here there's just nothing.

Still, the controls of the game are an improvement and the A.I. is less frustrating to deal with (for better and worse). I like how you can pick up items in the middle of running and throw them without going into aiming mode. The new weapon combinations are also really creative and fun to use. Just wish the items weren't lying right next to each other ALL the time. The skill system is an okay idea if you're not into the randomness of the previous games, but at the same time just feels uninteresting. This might be a preference thing though, I like to be surprised.

Dead Rising 3 is fine if you're just in the mood of randomly fucking up zombies, wreck stuff with a whole gang of companions or coop partners and play around with creative weapons. The storyline was fine, but even that was done better before and the ending feels extremely rushed.

Feels like a mix of Titanfall movement with Max Payne bullet time and shoot dodging. weapons are pretty satisfying and the game is short and sweet with a pretty good pace. There are a few annoying sections like the one where you have to destroy the house that I found kind of annoying.
