Probably the the best detective game ever made. It's whole gameplay system is built around solving a murder mystery, where you must deduce the fate of every single passenger on the Obra Dinn. But you don't know everyone by name. You must solve who every one is and their fate by listening for accents, following conversations, understanding the roles of the ship, understanding context clues, and even filling in the blanks. It's literal detective work, and I love it to bits for it.

A fun concept with big goals, but the development has practically grinded to a halt, with an update showing up about once a year at this point. It has incredible potential, flying around in your (fully customizable) ship, getting in dogfights, and landing on planets feels great, but besides a few enemy dungeon bases and retrieving data fragments, there's nothing to do. There is a foundation for a great game here, if only the devs were able to fully realize it.

It's a fun game to beat in a night or two. There's not a whole lot of depth gameplay wise (at least from what I could tell from the campaign), but is fun regardless and leads to some pretty cool movement. However, the writing and humor are on point, and are definitely the game's main strengths. It's also got a fun anti-capitalism story too, and you can't go wrong with that. It won't challenge you, but it'll certainly make you smile.

People give this game a lot of flack, but I really enjoyed it. It was my first Luigi's Mansion game, and got me invested in the series. I have fond memories of playing this game on dark and quiet car rides as a kid, it was a great pick up and play game that really stuck with me. Fun fact, The Dual Scream tune in this game is so good that it's my ringtone today.
