I don't mind paying for and playing very short visual novels, ones that only last 5-10 minutes but I didn't really understand the point of this one. There's also a ton of typos (Extremely is spelt wrong every time, then is used instead of than repeatedly) which helps make the writing feel very stiff. The "dark and bloody twist" also feels very nothing/blink and you'll miss it

Fewprime has once again made feel like I've been hit with a baseball bat

Pretty much a Saturday morning cartoon in Visual Novel form with ridiculously high production values

A short sincere little bitsy essay

A cozy and VERY slow paced idle game and garden builder. You are at the mercy of RNG though, which can feel a bit daunting

Mechanically, this game is a mess, not letting players control the speed of text very well and sometimes the flowchart is a bit clunky too. If you can tolerate that though, the cast of characters are all really fun and the plot is very engaging too

A cool little minute long itchio game - I really like how everything speeds up for tension

Amazing gameplay that is better than Overwatch 1, and the worst monetization you've ever seen

Fun and very simple dodgeball arena game - solid sokpop entry!

A short sincere little narrative game that made me cry

A fun little puzzle game from Sokpop - I like doing the daily puzzle each day

Honestly a really solid BR game with a few unique ideas to set it apart - wish it had been easier to convince people to play it and it got more updates though lol

Yeesh, what a mess of a visual novel - I truely don't know how to rate this. There are parts that are really good, there are good ideas, but G-Senjou can't help but shit itself fairly often. Truely the American Horror Story of Visual Novels

I think this G-Senjou is a prime example of how common visual novel tropes can really drag the medium down. For example, this is a thriller mystery formatted like a slice of life dating sim, in that you have 5 chapters total. Each chapter has a general plot that ties into the overall story, and ends with the player given a choice, as to whether they want to pursue a specific girl or not. If you do, you're then locked into her route before moving onto the next chapter. It's really weird as well because the girls then sorta disappear as the next chapter focuses on someone else - this is especially jarring with Tsubaki who plays such a major role in chapter 1 (and I would say is one of the most compelling characters), before fading into the background for the rest of the story

The cat and mouse/Death Note-esque mind games stuff is really good but like many visual novels, the story has stop itself constantly to do slice of life stuff so the pacing ends up feeling wonky, especially since not many of the characters are intended to be likeable (another perverted best friend character as well zzzz)

And also don't get me started on That controversial twist towards the end that every discussion. I will say though, the last few hours of the VN after that are...kinda enjoyable? The epilogue was also pretty good and definitely helped my enjoyment

So yeah, not amazing, not terrible, not sure why it's in VNDB's top 50

A solid little puzzle game that lasts around 1-2 hours - I am going to knock half a star off though because of the sliding block levels which kinda sucked
