I am all for this new era of 5th gen style 3D platformers! A delight from start to finish, looks beautiful and the soundtrack is a bop. Well worth the price tag, throw me any recommendations for similar style 3D platformers.

There is an English translation available for this version now. You can now experience the GameCube cult classic, now with some motion and pointer controls to assist with menus and actions. Translation is not a copy of the GameCube localization for those interested. Great port of an already excellent game!

Talk about a mess from start to finish, narrative and gameplay wise. Open world exploration mixed with action combat is not what I want from Bayonetta, and even if I did, it’s not fun here! They should have left this for Astral Chain and NieR: Automata, since those are action rpgs. Multiverse story is lame, and the ending, lol.
I think if Platinum were to continue with this action rpg style, they should look into Game Republic’s Genji: Dawn of the Samurai for inspiration. A gorgeous late PS2 title from Onimusha lineage that mixes tight and satisfying action combat with rpg style exploration and storytelling for newcomers and veterans to master. I don’t think a live service title like Babylon’s Fall is the future for Platinum, but they insist otherwise…

The Nintendo game they DON’T want you to play! (1984) I appreciate its early arcade game design that the original Famicom would define itself, but I feel Pac-Man’s simplicity work against this title. Tamagon is a cute Nintendo friend tho…

Finished the Arcade mode and tried the Edge Master mode. Weird name for an RPG mode aside, the fighting system holds up surprisingly well. Pretty easy to abuse the ring-out system, but the combos are tight to slay your foes!

L move on Bandai Namco & Hamster for not providing the PS1 translation for the Arcade Archives. Would be a huge shame if I couldn't understand some crucial information because SOMEONE didn't want to provide the sauce! Good shmup x jrpg hybrid, might look into the PC Engine port in the future.

FINALLY ADDED TO BACKLOGGD!!! Anyways, it's a neat sandbox title where you can explore an island in dazzling 3D graphics that also utilizes the internal clock to affect the time of day when playing. The tank controls and varying performance does dwell on the island getaway experience, but you can also use the PSP as a ukulele or wallpaper device with the included black cardboard standee.

Stylish spritework and a godtier soundtrack, but the whole difficulty spikes and leveling system truly make me feel like Ramona Flowers dealing with Scott's bullshit. Complete Edition has some minor bugs that feel like they forgot to check, but nothing major that ruins the experience from my playthrough,

The dream of a revitalized Pocky & Rocky title came true, and it is pretty great! Fantastic soundtrack, presentation, and tough difficulty just like the original titles. Latter half of the campaign felt like the budget got cut in half unfortunately. Whoever at Tengo Project keeps messing up the co-op aspect of their retro inspired games deserves to be fired!!!

Early PS1 aesthetics to a tea! Catchy soundtrack, fun level design, and some tasty FMVs in one of the first 3D platformers ever made. I only did a first playthrough, little interest in replaying it again just to watch text scroll…

A step in the right direction compared to the original game, but still was brutally painful to finish. Ice Brain lives in my mind rent-free, such a bop!

They don't make games like this anymore...whether that be a good thing or bad thing is for you to decide...

I have been going through a handful of Ridge Racer games as of recently, and this game is an incredible technical achievement to watch and play! Type 4 has the happy yet thrilling experience of drifting around tight corners and making it to the top in the Grand Prix. It even includes a bonus disc for the original Ridge Racer with the original release! We were robbed of Ridge Racer 8 for Nintendo Switch…

Feels a lot more polished than the original game, but the drifting feels off to me. Visually pleasing early PS1 title.

More Ridge Racer goodness! An expansion more than a proper sequel, but gets the job done for an early PS1 title.
