what a game...peak JRPG
Absolutely Soul

Its Grover
Very Nostalgic, the community, the levels, the gamepad features all worked really well.
Atleast I can say it ended with a nice memory

one of the worst games I ever played but its such a weird work of passion that its simply...

The Room of Video Games

the fact the dev thought this would be the next star wars, the insane large marketing, the multi media set up, the contest, the fact the story comes from some highschool brainstorm session, this game has such an interesting behind the scenes

and the basic premise is intriguing, a sci fi world where humans are actually seen as some sort of divine figures by other aliens, well most other aliens

well the gameplay is some generic 3rd person shooter with bad graphics and well Im usually not the one to care about graphics but here and especially in the cutscenes they were so laughably bad, the Alien designs are so atrociously bad and the world building is the most sloppy generic shit

the combat and driving sections are just a boring copy of halo and by the time I got like half way through I just couldnt bring myself to finish it for the simple fact that I cant take the game serious enough to put much time into it

I could go more into the storys issues and flaws but I already forget most of it

such an absolutely uninspired, mindless, slop game

the same damm music in every combat encounter, the same shitty little boxes you fight in, oh gotta kill every enemy in an area to move on, one bugged out, too bad

its just go around shoot random weak enemies to the same song over and over again,
nothing here that kept my interest

brainrot game

absolute boring generic dnd inspired fantasy slop world, most enemies are 1 meters tall and boring to fight, overall all you do is just be in boring combat, not as bad as some others tbf, but the absolutely uninspired setting drags it back down

oh isnt it fun to create a boring brawler where 99 percent of enemies do nothing but endlessly block and you cant break their block unless you stop attacking and endlessly block yourself

the game is just dull in its combat and besides combat it doesnt have anything

Fire Emblem Echoes is a game with great presentation, from the art to the fantastic music and high voice acting, yet in both Story and Gameplay it has major shortcomings

during the first 2 and half acts I was having an absolute blast, couldnt put it down, but starting in act 3 and especially in act 4 the games flaws really started to show

generic map design, no weapon triangle and some absolute enemy spam, not hard ones, just tanky ones

the whole summoners spawning new enemies over and over again, the repetitive slog thats starting to become more and more aparent later on

the swamp levels in celicas act 4 were absolutely atrocious

and now the unique gameplay features that are only in this game of the franchise,

the dungeons, the overworld map and the towns
first of the map, alright idea, but the enemy spawning (necro dragons in act 4 anyone) and some party members leaving temporarely just because of a specific path being chosen causes massive backtracking,
if you want to change someones class, have fun going back to the dungeon and fighting the same reperetive enemies again

oh the dungeons, I dont get why people praise them, walking in 3rd person in them is novel for a second but the stupid enemies standing there are just bloated gamedesign and they themselves are not fun,
Especially not dumas tower

also obviously most of newer good fire emblem features like the earlier mentioned weapon triangle and class changing (besides villagers) isnt present

and yes most of the complaints are because its a fateful remake but hey flaws stay flaws

now for the support conversations, man what a absolute letdown, it was obvious with it being a remake that the waifu and kid mechanic wouldnt return from fates, but to replace the interesting and comprehensive support conversations with literal three sentence quips on the battlefield is just no

instead of convos outside of battle and them being deep and very varied because you can pair up any character with any other like in fates, here its quick on the battle and some charcters can only have the convos with one other and most of them are like this

x: "hey, whatcha doing there"
y: "dont talk to me"
x: "whats your issue, hey dont run off"

there are only a few interesting ones but them happening on the battle breaks up the flow of combat

so gameplay wise this is definetely a more weaker entry in the series and the final boss besides amazing music was wack gameplay wise

now lets check the story (full spoiler warning from here on out)

the story and characters were well, alright, mostly,
Lets beging with the characters, the roster is one of the smallest in the series but its passable, having some great chars and also weaker ones like every fe game,
tho sadly in combat most ended not being as useful and I saw myself relying on the same 4ish units throughout the game

of the additional chars, berkut and fernand are great and ironically enough turn out to be right if one analyses the story but thats besides the point

sadly the remake mishandled the dual protagonists alm and celica, people give corrin a lot of flag, but corrin is way better and even less of a mary sue,
corrin in whatever path you choose, gets hated on by half the family and the war leaves major scars to say it midely
meanwhile alm gets no real consequences and is just instant loved by 90 percent of people who meet him

celica is handled well throughout the first half, tho yes as many have pointed out her actions in the second half dont make much sense

as for alm in the original he was more morally grey, being hellbent on revenge, conquest and war, meanwhile here he is le pure good guy who only wants justice and his entire personality and arc fall completely flat

now in the first three chapters and right before the end, alm is basically like "your standing in life being decided by birth is wrong, how could these pretentious nobles decide"
And like alright ok sure BUT

and now this is a general media thing, WHY IS EVERY SINGLE TIME you got a protagonist doing the whole
"I will change the system to allow everyone to shape their lives so birth and blood doesnt matter"

Why is every single one of them always
1.of royal blood themselves or even the secret heir to the kingdom meaning he can just change anything without any pushbakc because thats totally how feudal kings work right, magna carta whats that

2.they always have some special power, or are chosen by fate/the gods to be a hero

like yeah its easy to be like "duh everybody by their competence" when you got special powers and are destined to rule lol

like Alm critices fernand for being like "how can a peasent lead us" and by the end the game literally does the
"only the magic sword can save us, which is only allowed to be wielded by a member of the royal bloodline"
So like yeah if alm was just a peasent like fernand thought everything would have been lost because now blood does actually matter

you cant have the social revolution thing while also having le chosen royal hero

also rudolfs plan was absolute idiocy "my son will be given away and he will somehow lead an army to kill me in 20 years and destroy my kingdom that I want him to inherit, genius"

also the ending stuff with the "we dont need no gods, we humans make our own path man" is so corny, especially since THE MAIN CHAR GOT ALL THEIR POWERS BECAUSE OF THE GODS

like what, also the whole "if the gods go it will be drought time" plot gets abandoned too

and then by the end alm becomes emperor and monarchy and nobility continue like nothing happened so the game is just half assing these "themes" of human empowerement and determinism like 99 percent of jrpgs have them but its own story completely make them void

the villains being like "bloodline, divine power is important" like yeah they were right, the only reason alm can do anything he can is because of those two things

so yeah the story is pretty bad imo atleast the second half, the first half was nice and had cool intrigue tho I was able to guess its twists but thats not an issue

and the gameplay is definetely substandard fire emblem wise, so why the relative high score, well because I still had a blast half of my time playing this game and the music and presentation were really good also I like fire emblems basic gameplay and that helped

I definetely prefer the other 3ds titles tho for their more customization and more intriguing gameplay

This and its Sequel are the Greatest Games of all time
