Really cute and chill game that was a nice use of a couple hours. Learning about this girl’s life while judging her for how she packs boxes was just a really pleasant time.

I haven't had something emotionally affect me this much since I first watched Your Name when it came out in 2016. As I type this, it's been a couple hours and I'm still shaking.

This is now up there with Generations as one of my favorite Sonic games. I was surprised how well written the story was, its been a long time since Sonic has been written this well. Not only was this the last time Sonic was written well, it just further proves that the 4kids cast is the best cast. Frontiers should give Sonic a sword again.

It's not a very good shooter but it has an interesting premise and two great characters that helped push me through it.

Pretty sure this game is what cocaine feels like. It just kinda throws shit at you not caring if it actually works or not and I kinda love it for it. When it just lets you fight dudes it’s so much fun, but it gets a little carried away with things you can’t really counter. Anytime I saw the ninjas that throw incendiary shurikens at you I’d just get upset, same with the skull worms. But the combat feels good enough that those annoyances just kinda fade away as soon as you get to start swinging a fucking demon scythe at dudes. Every single boss outside of the final one was kind of a joke, after a certain point I was able to beat them all by just spamming Y with the scythe. The story was basically nothing but I wasn’t expecting different so who really cares tbh. The dismemberment system was actually a really neat addition, seeing fiends throw other fiends’ body parts at me was really cool.

Janky as hell but it’s alright as a first attempt at this style of game. Incredibly influential though, you can still feel the influence of this game in the industry.

Probably the best game the Guerilla has made so far. It does really well in actually making this sci-fi setting about space WWII feel incredibly grounded, even the more outlandish things like the lightning gun and the hovercrafts feel like versions of those things that could actually happen. It helps that even in this far flung future, they still mostly use weapons that are obviously derived from current real world weaponry. It also has one of the best video game shotguns ever along with some incredibly satisfying weapons like the boltgun and the aforementioned lightning gun.

Second best Uncharted game. This series really felt like it hit its stride on the PS4, I consider both PS4 games to be the best in the series. The gameplay still feels great and it looks fucking insane. The open world chapter is probably the highlight just because getting to actually explore is just really fun. The main thing that brings it down when compared to 4 is Asav, I just don’t like him as much as Rafe and Nadine. But I really like Chloe and Nadine’s dynamic in this game. If they bring Uncharted back I would love to see these two together again.

My favorite one so far by a lot. This is a great remake that makes the original game actually really cool. I really like the new sequence in the chozo ruins, sneaking around without the power suit was cool. It gave us the zero suit so I will forever be grateful.

The combat system is fine but it’s nothing special and that could go for the whole game. Honestly I had the most fun in some of the shooter levels because I liked how the shooting felt more than the melee combat that just felt spammy and limp. The stealth sections were awful too. The story wasn’t offensive or anything it’s just nothing worth talking about. Mid game but entertaining enough for it’s couple hour run time.

It’s really funny to me that both times Naughty Dog ended a trilogy by making a racer they made a game that I enjoyed more than most Mario Karts. I really enjoyed this game a lot. The driving feels really great and I love the variety in mission types in the adventure mode, it kept things feeling fun all the way to the end. I loved the effort they put into the story mode too, they made a story that fit right into the series and felt like a proper end, even if it technically wasn’t. The music is really great too, very 00s. Despite loving this series a lot I never finished this as a kid because my copy got ruined, so playing a game in a series I love for the first time felt surreal.

There’s something really special here. The gameplay is alright. It’s really simple but is also frenetic and breezy enough to be enjoyable. But the real draw here is the characters and the writing. This game is impeccably written and acted. The way the team grows together and becomes a family by the end is so well done. This is one of those adaptations where you can feel the writers’ love for the source material. I’m not gonna act like I know a lot about the comics, and I haven’t seen the movies because fuck Chris Pratt, but even as someone with little to no background with this series I absolutely loved these characters.

gimme a new deus ex tho

2010

INSANELY well written and well acted story that hit some emotional highs I never could have expected.

This game is just pure unbridled fun. It’s fairly short, but the pixel art is gorgeous and the music is fucking stellar. In terms of game feel I’d say it’s one of the best beat-em-ups I’ve played. It’s not very deep mechanically but hitting dudes just feels really good. The only negatives I really have are that a few enemies didn’t feel good to fight against and one stage wasn’t great. Those wouldn’t normally be enough to bring it down a point but with a game that’s this short it’s fairly big part of it.

Probably the best shooter on the GameCube and one of the best shooters of the sixth gen. It was so good that I sat down and shotgunned it in one sitting.
