annoyingly mid as fuck. the 4 main characters are great, the animated cutscenes are as good as always, but that's really all I have in terms of positives. story is constantly drip feeding the fact the reveals to the big questions you have are around the corner, but constantly delays the reveal and when you finally get your answers, they're delivered poorly and the answers themselves just aren't satisfying. also, easily the worst final boss in any Yakuza I've played, possibly the worst boss of the entire series.

neat to experience some of the 501st's missions firsthand, but extremely simple overall gameplay just makes the whole thing feel kinda meh. can also feel ridiculous playing on elite and losing all your missions to the useless AI partners dying on repeat while you take out dozens of enemies by yourself

played the entirety of it with two friends at a christmas party, you can tell this game was thrown together in a short space of time with very little budget yet still has a lot of charm and love in it, nailed a lot of the simple things like music sfx etc. very simple and not amazing but the final boss theme is breakcore which is hilarious

this game, on its own, is a watered down port of Ninja Gaiden 2, but with some great quality of life updates like not having to go to the chapter screen every time you die, and extreme performance/framerate increases, a new weapon, and a cool mode in Ninja race. but the increased health of enemies and less enemies per encounter just makes fight feel significantly less fun, since what used to be a game of thrillingly dodging between tons of enemies as you cut through them turned into dodging two enemies and slowly hitting them until you got a lucky dismemberment
then enter the mod Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Black, and the game becomes perfect, essentially just removes the bad of Sigma while keeping the positives. it reduces enemy health, appropriately adjusts damage and makes dismemberment feel like it did in the original. and because its on PC, you don't have to worry about the insane enemy counts resulting in the game starting to lag, you keep the quality of life updates and extra gamemodes, and you get the new weapon which is one of my favorites in the game.
if you loved Ninja Gaiden 2, this modded version is a must play, and the only real way to play the master edition on PC as far as I'm concerned, even worth its price tag. god tier game

very rare that I start and finish an entire game in the same day/nearly the same sitting. one of the best games I've ever played in terms of raw game feel, the movement just feels tight responsive and perfect. the grappling hook is awesome, killing enemies just to grab their corpse and throw them at other enemies never fails to be satisfying, and the movement with it is really cool albeit limited by so many rooms having spiked roofs or no roofs at all. god tier game, auto recommend to literally everyone interested

going to update this later so james lee stops yelling at me

this is the only racing game that tells you "YOU'RE GOING AT 100000 MILES PER HOUR WOW!!!!1!" that actually feels like you're going that fast. their willingness to let the camera move insanely fast and spike around really helps, even if it's less "clean" it really gets across how fast this game goes

not actually based on LSD contrary to popular belief, but an understandable one based on what the game is

honestly slightly better than I remember it being, but still way way way WAY too easy to be enjoyable. play a romhack that makes it difficult and it jumps up in quality significantly

2016

it is, very unfortunately, nowhere near as good as you remember it being

one of the most underrated games of all time no questions asked

incredible visuals music vibes etc, but the gameplay is literally honk shoo zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz tiers of easy
