Subterrain: Mines of Titan
Haha, all good man. You really were enthusiastic for this title and I'm glad it worked for you. The game got mixed reviews on Steam so I was curious if the story made it worth any potential gameplay flaws.
And thanks, though those are admittedly less reviews and more recollections from a long ago past I assembled here.

Grim Fandango Remastered
But you say that, even with that foreknowledge, you still had to consult a guide?
Yeah, I guess agree to disagree on the rest. Gameplay, in a puzzle title, is as much a singular facet of a game as tires are a singular facet of a car - yeah, the rest of the vehicle may be gorgeous, but if you can't drive it without help, it's not really something you want to cherish haha.
Tbf though, I don't blame Schafer and DF because I feel like the Moon Logic was a corporate request given how expensive Grim Fandango was to make in comparison to other titles (I've played Full Throttle and Psychonauts, neither of which were this problematic). I feel like it was done to either avoid refunds or, as you actually point out in this review, impel the selling of game guides.
