It's hard to be too harsh on a retro game. You can tell this was revolutionary when it first came out: clean graphics, great music. The level and enemy design has not aged well, but to those of you who like a retro challenge this is as good as any.

Ahh I played the PS1 game but can't seem to swap it

It kills me how much of this game is just a shameless rehash of the original. Why are we still exploring Shibuya? The world should feel fleshed out and yet it is unbearably insular. The new characters are cool but get trumped by the returning characters... Again, why? The new songs are great, but 80% of the entire OST is more nostalgiabait. C'mon guys... The original TWEWY was a PHENOMENALLY fresh game. You're tarnishing its legacy by making safe, boring choices. I give it 3 stars on the merits of a fun (if limited) battle system and the style it still maintains, but let's please see something bold next time.

A fun concept that's unfortunately full of not-so-fun games. I would probably have received this better had indies not devoured the 8-bit style. Still, it's a unique game, and that deserves some praise.

Fire Emblem Fates could never live up to the hype of its concept, but I'm still happy with what we received. Birthright and Revelations are decent, Conquest is the REAL deal. Divvying up the job classes among Hoshido and Nohr was a great touch. The music is excellent. I hope we get a proper remaster on the Switch with less awkward narratives.

This game leans hard into the series' retro roots, and I think it pays off in dividends. The story isn't anything spectacular, but it is voiced well and has excellent artwork. More than anything, I think this game has the most thrilling battles the Fire Emblem franchise has to offer. Considering the "dating sim" aspects are all but removed, I'm surprised I ended up liking the game as much as I do. Sometimes less really is more.

CRINGEY CHARACTER DESIGNS!!!

Despite that, it's still pretty decent. One plot-hole that I can't seem to shake: why care about a good timeline? Does the existence of one good timeline invalidate all the other awful ones? Hmm.

There's something special in this generic-looking visual novel. The frustrating parts are forgivable: there's a fantastic ambiance here that's just oozing with mystery. One of the stronger scripts for a VN, and gosh darn it I want that watch!!

I was expecting a lot more from this. The Edwards family subplot (and especially the mood!) was so much more interesting than the main plot. Short, maybe even a bit trite, and with few interesting ideas explored. I hope to play the sequel one day. More than that, I hope it lives up to the potential which I still think is strong.

If I were rating this strictly on genre this would easily be 5 stars. EBA is not only a great time but a moving one. A true gem on the Nintendo DS!

The highs are high: boost gameplay is an absolute blast, the game is gorgeous, and the music is top tier. The lows really aren't that low, I know people love to bash the night levels. I don't think they're that bad, but I will also never play them again... The day levels are just that good.

A surprisingly decent story with a lot of heart, made all the more surprising that it's a Sonic game on the Gameboy Advance. Battles are fast and fun, sprites look great, and customizing Emerl is a slow but rewarding experience.
