I don't think I can say anything about Celeste that hasn't been sad before. Incredibly polished 2D platformer that feels satisfying to control, has a great philosophy of encouraging th player and deals with its topics in a smart and mature way.

When I played Celeste, I didn't quite understand depression and mental conditions yet. It introduced me to that subject through meaningful metaphors.

And man, the depth this game has. Have you even seen what speedrunners are able to pull of?! Absolutely mind blowing.

Bought this in Kerry on holiday, it was in one of those display cases in case anyone tried to steal it. One of the last times, maybe even the last time, I saw a supermarket selling video games over here. Played it non-stop at the hotel we were staying at. Paid full price. Maybe it wasn't Kerry actually. Might've been abroad. I don't know. That was the last year we were able to go on holiday anywhere. Would've been years after release too, mind, like 2013. It's a fiver now used. Wild. Played online once and it was early-mid 10s Nintendo wifi stuff so naturally it was unplayable and I was bad anyways so it didn't really make much of a difference. Strange.

This game makes me feel like I'm in an abusive relationship

For a game that has birth in the title, it's surprisingly tame.

I started dating because of this game, if that's not the best campaign mode in the genre idk what is...

This is a baby game for babies. Until the last level which has instant death traps everywhere, turning it into a manly man's game for men. Still fun though.

80% - A really cohesive dreamwave trip that makes you want to explore every avenue, even if that means talking to furries.

Gris

2018

Honestly, this game is the kind of game i'd consider more of an experience, in terms of art style, direction and music it's a 10/10, absolutely gorgeous visuals and music paired with the really emotional and somehow personal story makes for a one of a kind experience playing.

I have played Gris probably 3 times, it's one of those games that you should absolutely play if you're feeling down or in a bad moment through your life, it's relaxing and calming and there's a lot about overcoming sorrow and bringing the colors back to life, but nothing stops you from enjoying it thoroughly if you're already doing well, perhaps makes you appreciate the little things

The game has no voicelines, The protagonist sings a little sometimes, but asides from that it's a story purely told visually, and that just makes it so much more beautiful in my opinion, regardless of the language one speaks, everyone can experience the same and enjoy it the way it is intended

More concretely, the controls are simple enough that my mother still played and loved it although she doesn't play videogames ever, the level design is quite linear which helps with the feeling of a sit back and enjoy the ride kind of game, but for those interested there are some collectible side things that you can do that just make it all the more interesting, it's a relatively short game, lasting around 3 or 4 hours, but the sheer art of it compensates the lenght and, in my opinion it's a game that everyone should play at least once

Santa isn't real and Jesus didn't happen

Dudes will actively take Smash Bros way too seriously and then not even touch this game "because ponies."
