Had to prematurely end of my hyperfix on the Sims 2 cause I needed the space to install Fallout 4 (thanks, Amazon) but man, I absolutely love this game. It's so charming and silly and nostalgic. I'm coming back for you, baby, I promise.

Honestly, despite having this listed as "played" this is actually my first time playing the original all the way through. I started on the remake and it's evidentially my all time favourite game so whenever I tried to replay this I was just like "why bother, this is just an inferior version of a game I already love?" But with an inching to replay the entire series (or at least every numbered game, remake, and CV/Revelations for good measure) I gave this a proper go, doing both Jill and Chris.

And look, I still prefer the remake by a longshot but it's also impossible not to appreciate this game for what it was, the start of it all. Everything great about Resi started here. The iconic Arkley Manor, the almost strategic survival gameplay, and the eerie atmosphere are all in tact. It's actually quite intriguing and fun to see all these well familiar elements in their most primal stages. And honestly, being so well versed with the remake it was kinda freshing to be thrown here and there with where their game deviates from the remake (well, more accurately how the remake deviates from this).

Tho, I would be lying if I said this game completely held up. The controls are as clunky as ever, the environments don't feel as fleshed out as even the original 2/3, and despite appreciating this game for what it is, it's hard to ignore there's a version of this game that does everything here 10 times better. But again, this is where it all started and you have to play this game in mind in order to fully appreciate it. I'm actually really glad I played through this one and fellow horror game fans should give this one a go too.

And yes, I didn't list the voice acting as a criticism because it truly makes the game. It's worth for Chris laughing at Wesker alone.

At last I have finally completely Persona 5 Royal...again...for real. I loved the game first time I played it but missing out on so many confidants and not getting the Third Semester really annoyed me so despite this being a 100 hour long game I had to replay it.

I loved spending time with all the confidants. Sadly, my time management is still bad so I didn't finish Haru and Sumire's but there's a lot of really nice ones, with Yoshida being a hidden gem and prolly the best non-Phantom Thief one.

The third semester was super interesting. It was nice to finally get some answers about Kasumi/Sumire, admittedly she felt really shoehorned into the original story but I think the big revelation justifies the build up and honestly really fleshes her out. First time round I was indifferent but now I was actually invested in her and her story.

Maruki as an antagonist was super interesting too. It was a nice change from other palace users (with the exception of Futaba) where he had noble goals but were corrupted. He's actually a good case of a sympathetic antagonist - he's likable enough for you to feel for him but his actions are bad enough to justify having to stop him.

I definitely liked this new ending more than the original. The original was nice but this really hit home the bittersweetness by having them all go their separate ways. Even though this is my second playthrough, and admittedly starting to get weary of it a little bit, I still felt that heaviness you get when you come to end of a long but great game. If anything, this second playthrough has solidified this game as a top favourite and I'm excited to see what the games before it have instore!

My first ever strategy game! And a damn good one, I say. Star Wars lends itself so well to this genre, surprised there hasn't been more, especially with different eras like TCW and that. I've only played the Rebel story campaign but it gave me a decent enough taste. I feel if I was more invested in the genre I would really sink my teeth into that but I don't really have the patience, but if I get the itch then I certainly know where I'm going back to.

I've not gotten far in this at all but I get the gist, it's 2D Mario! It's fun, it's colourful, it's cheery, but my god I cannot play it. I don't know what's wrong with me, I had no problem playing 2D Mario as a kid but I guess I'm no longer used to playing by the "1 health" rule, I'm too used to letting myself get ruffled up by enemies to play this game anymore. Basically, I had fun but these 2D games ain't for me anymore

A fun little arcadey game! Honestly a little too tricky for me and sometimes can get extremely overwhelming but the gameplay is super addictive! It's so simple but the variety of pixels you can collect makes it more intriguing. A fun little game indeed!

What's great about OG Portal is not only always nice to revisit due to it's short length but also just how much it achieves in that short length. As much as I kinda prefer Portal 2 to this one, it's hard to deny that this game is absolutely perfect on every level. Great concept, puzzles that steadily get more challenging, witty humour and all sorts of little secrets. I love finding the Rattman dens but on this playthrough I, for the first time, found the Black Mesa presentation and...It's just cool y'know??

Oh! And the soundtrack, I forgot how incredible the soundtrack is. It's so eerie, it gives this game that extra level of creepiness. Honestly, it's hard to not compliment this game enough. I miss when Valve was like this.

Managed to finish this before it came off on Game Pass and holy shit, what a truly incredible game. This is a new all-timer for me, hell, I felt this would be an all-timer as far back as Kanoshida. The fact the game manages to make both the dungeon crawling aspect of the game and the social life aspect work so well together, meaning I never get bored of either playstyle.

The plot is insane, starting out simple but soon diving in government conspiracies to even fucking biblical battles with gods and yet it never forgets it's true heart in friendship of others and standing up for what's right. It's that heart that really makes the story something special.

For the record, I apparently got the original game's true ending meaning I didn't get to do the third semester that came with Royal. But honestly, that makes me want to go back and play the game even more. I was actually really happy with the ending I got though it still left some things unanswered (aka, Kasumi's whole deal). That would've been a big criticism but honestly I think I can give the game the benefit of the doubt and hope those questions get answered when I next play.

Absolutely fantastic game. Between this and New Vegas, I truly am sampling the best-of-the-best when it comes the RPG genre!

A lot shorter than I thought it was gonna be going in but I guess that's the alternate routes are for. That said, this was incredibly fun! This is the best kind of arcadey game, simplistic enough controls but challenging enough levels to put your skills to the test. I don't plan on doing every single route rn but it's def something I can see myself picking up and playing over and over again fs. Good game!

Wow...What a truly BREATHtaking game...But nah, all jokes asides, I've been wanting to play this game ever since it came out and honestly? It's expectations were well met. Very different from other Zelda games I've played (basically OoT/Majora) but it still kept the core gameplay at heart. It's hard to maintain a solid open world, especially one so vastly "empty", but there was such a beautiful atmosphere running through it, I didn't mind it. Can't wait to get my hands on Tears of the Kingdom!

At last I have finished the Ace Attorney trilogy and I gotta say, what an incredibly fun set of games! Loved every bit of it - The cases, the puzzle solving, the over-the-top characters, it's all great stuff.

Ace Attorney is a great start to the series. It's a really good introduction to all the character we'll grow to know and love. The best of this game is getting to see Edgeworth's arc. He's easily the best prosecutor in the series I love seeing his and Phoenix's relationship grow throughout the trilogy.

Justice for All does great at stepping-up the gameplay, making use of the "Profiles" feature in investigation and well as the element of Psycho-locks which makes the investigation portions more engaging. However, whilst I do like her, I found von Karma a bit of a step-down to Edgeworth and probably the weakest prosecutor of the series. This game also had my least favourite case in "Turnabout Big Top". That said, the final case was truly excellent and really laid the tension and stakes on thick whilst introducing a compelling dilemma, probably my favourite of the trilogy.

And lastly, Trials and Tribulations was a satisfying conclusion to the series. Not only having a compelling narrative throughout but also bringing the whole trilogy together. Godot especially was a facinating character and I love the revelations of his character and motivations.

All in all, absolutely adored this trilogy! And the fact there's more Ace Attorney beyond these three games fills my heart with joy to no end.

A fun little game! Short and sweet, it's fun getting to play my boy in a game, and yeah, it does its concept well. I hope the sequels add a lot more, maybe some more gadgets to help you catch ghosts but honestly it's a game that did its job well and I can't really complain about that.
