A very polished, but quite charmless remake of one of my all-time favs. Ashley is a great companion is this version and the relationship between her and Leon is pretty nice but for me the game lacked quite a bit of sparkle.
The visuals were too grey, drab and just too damn dark most of the time. The soundtrack also isn't a patch on the classic original.
Still worth a go, but in my view the definitive version of Resident Evil 4 is the VR version
of the original on Meta Quest. Now THAT is a damn fun time.

I just can't anymore. I uninstalled and reinstalled this game three times before I finally pulled the plug.
Incredibly frustrating, awful dialogue and acting, rotten characters, very linear design, instant fail nonsense if you don't do things EXACTLY the way the developers want you to, blah blah blah.
It's such a VIDEOGAME videogame. Go here, press this button, interact with this shiny thing, press that button, go there. I haven't played a game that wound me up like this in a while. Unbelievably annoying.

The most immersive and easiest to play version of Resident Evil 4 ever made. Such a blast picking off headshots with ease and manually reloading your weapons.
Also, seeing those nearly twenty year old blocky GameCube textures up close and in 3D is making 2005 me very giddy and very happy.
It's delightful.

Not as epic and huge as the first game, Subnautica: Below Zero takes its exploration and mysteries into a smaller, more compact and slightly blander world. The winning formula that made the original so special is still there, but it's not quite as... magic.
The story, however, is one area of the game that is much improved over Subnautica. I felt compelled to keep going, to find out what happens next. I got more invested in the characters this time around and had a great time seeing how everything panned out.
l had an amazing time with this game, but it just wasn't as breathtaking as the first one. Still highly recommended, though.
More like Subnautica 1.5 rather than a full sequel.

Subnautica is one of those games.
A game that you think about even when you're not playing it. A game that takes over your brain and lives there for a bit. A game that makes you feel you're actually accomplishing something. A game with a purpose. A game that actually lets you discover things, wonderful things, terrifying things, all by yourself instead of forcing them on you like most other titles.
Subnautica is a game worthy of your time. It's a game that will last the ages. It's beautiful.
Play Subnautica.

I really didn't have high expectations for Mafia: Definitive Edition but it quickly pulled me in with a great story, cool characters and amazing visuals. 10 hours later very slight boredom had begun to creep in but overall I had an absolute blast being a 1930's gangster with a nice hat.
Combat and driving are a bit clunky but the storytelling and impressive world more than make up for that. There is a lot of driving in this game, though. A lot of driving.
Give this game a shot if you can get it cheap. Well worth your time.

Very silly, very boring, very pointless.
At one point your character screams "No! I can't take it anymore! Make it stop!".
Oh, mate. I'm there with ye, son. I was with ye the whole way. Especially when I got to the excruciating end sequence and I was ready to jump out the window and live the rest of my days as a pigeon.
That's what Blair Witch does to ye. It makes ye want to be a pigeon.
This is standard non-scary tedious Bloober Team nonsense. Avoid and don't waste your time.

I find it hard to describe exactly what it is that makes Death Stranding so special to me.
Maybe it's the beautiful landscapes, maybe it's the unusual setting, maybe it's the relaxing pace. Maybe it's the design, maybe it's the humour, maybe it's the... strangeness.
Yes, I can't tell you precisely WHY, but Death Stranding really is such a special game for me. Just a wonderful, unique experience that is unlike anything I have ever played before.
Thank goodness we have this to enjoy. Thank goodness there are people out there willing to make stuff like this. Stuff that makes you go: OOOOOOOH and WHHHHAAAT in equal measure.
Death Stranding is special. Play Death Stranding.

One of the worst games in the Far Cry series? Possibly. One of the most boring? Definitely.
Full of the usual Ubisoft bloatpiss which, even for me as a fan of collectibles and map-clearing bloatpiss, was really grating on my tits near the end.
Some wacky and awful design choices in here too made the whole game feel a bit disjointed and sloppy. Not to mention the largely dull story and characters.
I didn't quite get on with this game, but still stuck 55 hours over two months playing it. You know, like a twat.
Far Cry 5 is still the best, though. Play that instead.

A kind of interesting story, set in a mostly interesting setting, told in a very uninteresting way.
This game is the standard walking simulator stuff: i.e. exploring the environment at an irritatingly slow pace, telling the story via audiologs with sometimes ropey voice acting and a stack of letters and notes left lying around giving you tons of things to read instead of playing a damn game.
Whatever. Just don't bother. I really wish I hadn't.
