Had me hysterically giggling like a maniac, major undertale vibes from the writing, characters, world and cheeky humor especially.
Freakishly good OSTs, SO melodic, SO nostalgic especially the familiar chiptune sounds. Felt strong touhou influences in the music and bullet hell gameplay here.

2022

Drenched in a dimly neon lit, cyberpunk atmosphere.
Nailed that tight, claustrophobic level design like the vents, the platforming - all intriguing exploration that fits like a glove from the perspective of a cat.
Decent story, loved the hilarious interactions, nuisance cat bits and inspiration nods to half-life and other sci-fi works.

Smothering visuals and soundscapes immerse you in a thick atmosphere that compels profound emotions - beauty, curiosity, fear, mystery, hope, yearning among others will linger with you - truly takes you on a "journey"

Only had Ganon left to beat, lost interest and didn't play for two years. Played Elden Ring since then, returned to this and finally finished it.
Elden Ring recontextualized my BOTW experience so much - both are seminal titles which strive to fulfil the true open world promise. While I love BOTW, will say Elden Ring's dungeons and the sheer verticality had my jaw dropped way more than BOTW.

Minimalistic horror, leads to infinite interpretations

10/10
Mind bending puzzles, relaxing osts, existentialism much, mind irreparably blown - this is the will of steins gate
