I hadn't played a metal gear game until I picked up rising, I thought it would be a fun hack and slash game and I got that and then some.

Everything ever has been said about this game, to the characters being incredibly iconic, to the music being one of the best osts in all of gaming, but I think it's interesting just how much the music plays to the characters. For example Jetstream Sam, one of the best characters in this game has already a good amount of backstory behind him but having his theme be about how he's lost what he was fighting for is something I don't think I've seen in a game before.

This game is one of the most fun I've ever played and I'm glad I got to experience it and hopefully play the other metal gear games.

This was my first 3d zelda so some of my joy for it could come from nostalgia but this game has been one I've come back time and time again and it's gotten better on replays. The combat is something I've always found to be one of the strongest aspects in this game because while twilight princess had some motion control aspects to it, skyward sword expands on it and making the combat have full motion allows it to be done in unique ways with enemies telegraphing your attacks and you having to react accordingly.

The relationship between link and zelda in this game is also something that I've always enjoyed about it. Instead of it being the hero of time saving the princess of hyrule they're both childhood friends. The start of the game where zelda tries to get you to practice your loftwing because she's worried that you won't be able to win the wing ceremony is something I've always found really touching

I could go on for hours about the dungeons being incredible and ghirahim my beloved but at the end of the day, this game doesn't deserve nearly the hate that it does and it's been my favorite zelda game for years and I don't see that changing.
