This game brought back my will to live

this camera is out to kill me

One of the weirdest and most unbalanced games ever made, I don't really know what they were thinking while making it. The first half is an engaging SRPG with careful gameplay (as you'd expect it to be), but the latter half is a snoozefest of making units overpowered and able to kill everything they encounter. And yet it never stops being fun. Besides, the characters are so charismatic and charming! I usually don't even like reading supports, but these ones were just so fun.

I Wanna Be The Guy for gay people

Everyone and their moms hate the runey system, and for good reason. Conceptually it's actually really cool, but the execution is... unfortunately bad. I'd be lying if I said I never had fun collecting and placing runeys, but the downfall of this is that it takes so long and it needs to be done so constantly that it results in an unbalance between other (more fun) activities in the game.

With that being said, game is SO relaxing. The atmosphere is so calming, so healing, so charming and charismatic. It suffers from a problem a lot of games in this genre do, which is you can pretty easily get to the point in which you have access to virtually everything, therefore nullifying almost any challenge. These issues would only be resolved in a deeper manner in the series magnum opus, Rune Factory 4, however Frontier stands out among the rest as well because of an unique trait: instead of the incredibly fun fast-paced style of gameplay adopted starting from RF3, Frontier takes a more calming approach to the farming sim genre. Everything is done slowly, which may not work for a lot of people, but it made me sink in deep into the world they built in here.

I'll probably play this game again in my life, but next time... with the runey hack on dolphin, lol. Also, Rosetta and Anette are best girls, COULD NOT choose between them so I stopped playing before marriage lol! Oh and I have to say, they kind of butchered Mist here, she used to be a lot more funny in RF1 but oh well.

Honestly, I'll never understand what people actually see in this. Blue Lions was my first route, and it was fun story and character wise. But otherwise the map design is atrociously boring and the story in the grand scheme of things is a mess. It's a genre of narrative in which the characters are thoughtless people, therefore sparking endless and pointless debates about them amongst fans, because nothing makes sense to begin with. Almost nothing productive comes out of playing this game.

oh no :(

You know, I never actually got far into the game. And I don't think I ever will. There seems to be little point playing it when there are... better experiences in the same genre. The impression I had is that it feels very souless compared to RF4, and actually other games in the series as well. Something so cool about RF is that even the games with simpler writing such as Frontier and RF3 still manage to brim with charisma and character. Now, granted, I'm judging this having played very little of it. But the comforting atmosphere of RF is something felt early on by all of its good titles. This game's art direction has no character, and it's a pretty big downgrade from RF4 for the villagers to have the same conversations everyday. Also, the combat seems to have downgraded from the last 3d game in the series (TOD, which had pretty nice combat).

I must also mention it's disappointing because RF4 is one of my absolute favorite games, if not my number 1. And obviously I was out of myself when this one was announced. Nevertheless I'm VERY glad the series seems to have been reborn, and I genuinely hope it keeps getting better.

This is one of the weirdest entries in the franchise. The cases themselves are alright, but the game screws itself with a nonsensical setting with even more nonsensical scenarios, an unexplored and rushed narrative, moments that directly contradict earlier games, and just weak character writing when it comes to the recurring AA characters... aka the protagonists. It's worth playing if you're really into Ace Attorney and crave more of its content, but otherwise I wouldn't bother.

Top 3 soundtracks in the series though.

Story is nice, replayability is bad (specially considering there are 3 routes), but... the gameplay, the controls, the level design are AMAZING. It's truly one of a kind. The satisfaction of killing a hard boss is grand. One of my favorites <3
