Legitimately one of the scarier games I have played. Did not think a resident evil title would give me the creeps like this one did. Animation work, texture work and the VR components still holds up today. Man it was a blast to play this game.

Worst boss fights ever in a videogame but god damn this shit is fire. Creepy up until the very end, and perfect at building tension. It's easy to see how this game saved the franchise. The ending was also cheddar cheese balls crazy. Such an immersive, fun, and horrific experience. I can't wait to play the DLC and then pick up RE8.

First half so scary man i hate the mosquito mom and the first session when jack is stalking you is terrifying.

first half of the game is an easy 5 stars. second half of the game is an easy 3 stars. while I will always love 3rd person RE games, I enjoyed the switch to first person for this a fair bit.

Even with the finale not necessarily living up to the rest of the game, I cannot recall the last time a game was able to make me feel such genuine terror and fear so consistently and effectively, yet create such compelling gameplay that I was willing to suffer through the scares. Still gorgeous even five years later. A phenomenal entry in the franchise that (much like RE4 and RE Remake) will probably never be captured quality wise again.

Despite it's many, MANY flaws, it was still super enjoyable to me, and marked the start of when I took Pokémon semi-seriously and actually took the time to beat it. Goated series!

This game is like 🤏 THIS close to being one of the strongest Zelda games with its story, characters, dungeons, the music, and my god most of the bosses (it has one of my favorite final bosses in Zelda, if not one of my favorite ones ever), but man it really has some of the worst pacing and padding I've experienced in a video game.

I get that they wanted to stretch the game's length out and they had to redo the whole thing at one point, but it is extremely tiring having to revisit the same areas 3 or even 4 times just to fetch an item, having to prove you're a hero AGAIN like you haven't done it twice over, or to outright waste time because the game loves to do that. It feels so held back from how it could've ultimately been, its wack, I'm just glad the HD version fixes some of the glaring problems with the original game.

With that being said FUCK having to fight the Imprisoned 3 times who the fuck thought that was a good idea??? The boss wasn't even good the first time around, probably top 3 in worst Zelda bosses ever man

i'm either really bad at this game or the mechanics just suck. i have a feeling it's somewhere between the two

i got this at launch, and i held off on reviewing this. i've got it in my "finish first" steam category, and i stare at it whenever i boot up the app, knowing it's not very long and that i should just knock out the rest of it. but i feel absolutely no desire to, so i'm marking it as shelved.

most of the three stars i'm giving it come from its presentation and atmosphere. the environmental artists did a fantastic job, it's really breathtaking at times. the cat moves pretty well, it's clear the team fucking loves this cute lil orange fella. but moving is a little janky, there are visual bugs, 100%ing would be a drag, and the story isn't really hitting me hard or anything. idk, it's not bad but it's nothing to write home about

mostly a game of unrealized potential. the first half of the guest house opening is so strong but almost as soon as you leave the area the demo covered it stops being scary. unfortunate. i like the idea behind the item placement and pseudo random boxes peppered around to supplement the player but the level design doesn't feel strong enough to really support the concept. rooms are small and simple enough that you're rarely ever actually uncertain whether you've cleared an area. i totally forgot how exceptionally braindead the entire story was but it's funny honestly. the whole conversation with the cop lol
