the puzzle aspect is really fun! it's really satisfying to pick through each object and figure out what's out of place, and it was often surprisingly subtle. the camera pans pretty slowly, which i actually thought really worked. i kind of wish you couldn't zoom in and out at all, it's way faster and makes it a lot less scary. found the actual horror component a little lacking overall, really. there's no audio at all, and i feel like it really suffers for it.

i primarily hate this game for petty reasons but i do also separately think it's lame as hell. grating when it's not busy being extremely boring. police procedural played completely straight, which is about as off-putting as you'd expect. pretty standard fare as far as 'trashy romance aimed (primarily) at straight women' goes though, so if that's your thing go with god i guess

this game is okay! the main interactive mechanic of the AR videos of the crew is a pretty neat concept and serviceably engaging, though i feel like they could have gotten a little funkier with it. the plot is solid, if a bit straightforward and heavy-handed for my taste. the characterization of the crew members is the strongest part of the game and the most obvious throughline from gone home. mostly successful in feeding you info while still feeling like organic exploration. sareh and ODIN's dynamic was my favorite, and their scene together in botany felt particularly standout. overall though, for whatever reason it didn't really emotionally resonate with me, so i think the whole thing fell a little flat.

listen man this was just not the game for me. the aesthetic does not compel me enough to carry the bland gameplay, and dragon age had already spoiled me on rpg companion character arcs and development. unrelated but when i first played i managed to somehow softlock myself in the deathclaw tutorial section and overwrite my saves so i had to restart with a completely fresh file. never lived it down
