this game made me feel a deep empty sadness after finishing it which to me is a sign of a good game, i felt it took a while to get going and there was quite a lot of bloat but despite this and a few other issues i had with it (gameplay wise) i really loved it, amicia’s va was amazing, i loved her relationship with lucas in this game a surprising amount, i think they easily could have gotten rid of him at some point to focus on hugo and amicia but i’m very glad they didn’t, she wldnt have got through the absolute HELL she was put through in this game w out him, this is why i hate that at the end he’s gone!!! i wld have loved to see him!! i’m glad he’s off doing alchemy or whatever but the fact that amicia was entirely alone at that house makes me want to kms. and if lucas kills hugo they are implied to be estranged??? what the hell!!! i would really have loved to see them healing together😔 i really liked the new side characters in this game too, i wish arnaud was in it more i think he was a fascinating character with an interesting dynamic with amicia and hugo (especially after you learn he lost his son💔) and i liked that with him and sophia amicia had older people around to support her, and i’m glad sophia came to see her in the end, even though although it seemed pretty serene, i think the ending was like the saddest thing it could have been, like amicia has lost her purpose and is just all alone with NO ONE?? let my gal rest and have fun like omg she was in the trenches and she didn’t even get to have her cute found family ending. overall i love this duo-logy and wish more people had played it. (i need edits)

I really enjoyed this game, gameplay and story, i liked the pacing of the introduction of new gameplay elements, and how you go from a frightened girl who can do nothing but hide, to being able to take out multiple armed soldiers solo, using what felt like quite reasonable means for her to have. I liked the way it was split into short chapter as it felt like i was constantly progressing, the voice acting (for hugo and amicia) i felt was really good and i liked the french setting and their accents added to this. There were certain times i felt a beat in the story was a bit rushed, but i understand the limitations the company had. the game has a quite a few similarities with tlou in story beats, which i didn't mind because i love tlou, and it wasn't one to one copying just utilising similar structures but in different ways. i also think the game is beautiful, with the lake being a stand out environment for me, and the soundtrack in the scarier moments was excellent.
