Best of what I played in 2021

Everything I played for the first time this year that I rated a 7/10 or higher, ten-words-or-less reviews included.

Never once breaks character, everything fits. New favorite for sure.
Genuineness goes a long way. Exploration rarely feels this real.
Lives up to the hype. JC Denton is my hero.

A questionable story doesn't ruin some all-time great puzzles.
Distinct and yet really well-oiled mechanically. Embrace the grind.
Worth getting good at if you're not too busy grooving.
Great art, good bosses. These guys know what they're doing.
Excels at comedy. Doesn't excel at action, but still fun.
A non-linear platformer that actually makes use of platforming.
Clever, funny, oddly logical. My favorite LucasArts PnC so far.
Solid (not really) iterative sequel. Disappointing boss fights. 1's better.
Not for everybody. Hope it ends up influencing future narratives.
Consistently surprising game writing tricks. Gets worse after Melee Island.

Could've been great if it fully committed to its weirdness.
