i would die for the robotics club.

i can't believe the depth and quality of the writing behind (most of) these characters. akiho and kai's relationship is one of the best, most unique, honest, and well-developed i've ever seen in a game.

the plot is classic SciAdv, with maybe too many elements from prior games pulled in and a bit of a rushed finale. but the first half of the game with slice-of-life character hangouts and a slowly unraveling mystery was masterful - I wish I could've stayed in that part of the game for another 40 hours.

it's a shame the sequel focuses on the worst character in steins;gate, but oh well.

UNAPPRECIATED MASTERPIECE.

Yeah, it was broken at launch, but it's not anymore. And what's here is so special. I'm truly sad for the team who made it, who were rushed to release and didn't get to see this thing get the appreciation it deserves.

A lot of really good pieces! The day/night mechanic adds variety, and the heat system give your nights some REALLY high stakes. If you start running some races at heat 4 or 5, you'll bank some crazy-high rep if you can escape, but the chases are absolutely brutal. Leads to some really unique decision making for a racing game.

The car customization is great. Tons of basically free visual customization, and performance upgrades are easy and cheap to unlock. No MTX or DLC cars either. It's all there.

I loved it...but it fell apart a bit in the end (as Life is Strange games tend to do). Some shocking twists that maaaaaybe could've been earned with more time, but as presented were not. The whole things feels rushed - it takes place over the course of only a few weeks, but is trying to go for meaningful, deep, life-changing relationships. Even just stretching out the same events over 3-6 months instead would help a lot.

Still, I love the tone, I love the characters, and I'm looking forward to the DLC.
