GSC Kanto is interesting because if you *try* to engage with it on its own terms it's pretty obvious you're meant to take it slowly and do trainer refights, daily Trainer House etc. to match the huge level bump at the end. Execution is a bit naff for sure but I do respect what they were trying with it.

Idc about the speed, idc about the no fire types, idc about all that... sinnoh has good vibes and i love good vibes. Even still I think there's hardly any reason to play DP over Plat but i think people are a bit harsh on what's a perfectly good game

RB is better because you don't have to start with Pikachu. Look Pikachu is cool and all but your options are a bit limited early on unless you wanna tackle Brock to death with a rat or something

Like it'd be pretty easy to say there's 'no reason for it to exist' or something in a world where GB2 does. It's a pretty clear upgrade. But it's still fun as hell! It's on nso now go play it!!!

I played this and XD with randomisers (shadow Pokemon only) - definitely a fun way to re-experience these games if you've played them to death half as much as I have

Didn't expect to enjoy it quite as much as I did, especially since I'm pretty lukewarm on New Snap. Need more games as fucked up as this one

Tentative, I didn't get too far into postgame because my 3ds started having issues (it's still with us!) but I was kinda dropping off around that point anyway. Think I'm just starting to fall a bit out of love with how aggressively simple the gameplay is

Never played anything like this apart from probably a combined hour of tetris over the course of my entire life. Would probably like this a lot more if this wasn't one of the most hunbling experiences I've had in my entire life because I can NOT do this for the life of me. Beat hard with probably like 15 continues and you know what I'm fine with that

To be honest I didn't find Hoenn to be very exciting this time around, the whole section between Mauville and getting Surf stuck out to me as just being incredibly dull. Because of that, to keep you interested it has to give you the occasional best section in the entire series (route 118, abandoned ship). Shame i have to trash my childhood fave like this (i still like it!) but it spends too long just feeling a bit flavourless

Shouldn't be giving it a score really but I want to. By itself it's largely pretty pointless but the Hayley trades made me want to keep coming back every day to see what she'd give me and honestly that added quite a lot to the Pearl playthrough

Literally forgot i played this. Supremely okay game but very pretty. Novelty wears off far too quickly, it's probably too long for its own good

They were right for once, it's really not that good.... Bonus points for having the best trainer customisation (and having trainer customisation) and hints of teenage nostalgia

It's pretty but it's slow and not very exciting, even some menu lag to rub it in. Rarely iterates on its formula in a meaningful way and when it does it's normally for the worse. Really dumb method of 'transferring' pokemon. Transfer rewards are far too expensive (I played six hours for a mediocre TM????). The list goes on. But I got to spam earthquake next to a bunch of levitating pokemon so was it really that bad

Actually playing it is not fun at all but it's a way to get funny guys onto your hgss without being all that intrusive. Sadly you have to play it to do that
