Extremely fun game. I do not like rogue likes very much but this is the perfect type of rogue like for me. Tons of fun, time burner.

I really enjoyed Silent Hill 4. I am playing the series for the first time, one game every year starting a few years ago. I had a very negative idea of this game going into the series, but I was really excited about the differences in this entry. I enjoyed the idea of the room being your hub and venturing out into different, unique areas, and the different mechanics they throw at you with the room itself. The creature design is still fantastic, the atmosphere is still unbeaten from any game made in the past 10 years and the creative differences between this entry and the first three were really enjoyable. I will say the game does feel a bit shallow, a bit frustrating the entire second half of the game is just a backtrack of the first half, and honestly the story is even more unclear than the rest. I did enjoy many things this game did and it is a great entry but not my favorite.

This was quite fun. Huge metal gear fan and have never touched the original two before. I got through metal gear and while it was fine and interesting to see the series roots, not particularly fun. I had a good time with metal gear 2 though, what a beautiful, fun, exciting time with a very metal gear story. So much of the series can be traced back to here. I was surprised to get such a “first draft” of metal gear solid and it was quite fun. I will say though, the random obtuseness just makes this game insane to play without a guide at some points. The chocolate in the yellow puddles? All of the elevators going to different floors? It made everything more complicated then it should be but I think that’s just the game design of the time. I really could have left that behind. Fun time though!

Fun to see where the series started. If I am rating this as a game in 2024 though, it does not hold up. clunky, obtuse and just meh. It is a 35+ year old game so it should be forgiven and I am glad I played it, but man it is definitely old.

I really wanted to like this game. It seemed like it was right down my alley, but i came out semi disappointed. I have seen reviews of this game talking about how “there are so many characters and it is all out of order but somehow they make it work” when to me, they definitely did not make it work. I stuck it out to the end because i did enjoy the twists and turns but the story aspect which was my favorite part was still just okay. So much filler. SO much filler. Definitely dragged for a while. There was definitely parts of the story where i just wish it would have shown me an hour and a half cutscene instead of making me press buttons because i would have preferred to put my controller down instead of having to “think” about my next answer (aka pressing a button, finding the answer in a list, then mindlessly choosing that one).

This game is just so choppy. Obviously the main concern about a game structured like this would be pacing, making sure that if you are playing though 13 characters not in chronological order that the pacing still feels good, but they make it even harder with the gameplay aspect being a separate thing in its entirety. The pacing just felt so off, there was many times I didn’t feel compelled to keep going. I would start getting more interested in the story again and then would hit a wall and it would make me go do some combat that i was not in the mood for. Or i would be enjoying the mindless combat and then it would make me go back to the story. Just felt really separated.

The combat was quite boring as well. It felt like it boiled down to having your support set up defense and turrets and fire off long range missiles and then have your offense go up and use demolisher blade. There you go. By the time the 3rd wave rolled around i absolutley did not want to play anymore but was still kind of interested in the story so i just had to plow through. It took me a month or two to actually gain the desire to play.

Overall though, it’s a fun story. I think honestly i would have enjoyed it more as a tv show or something. Cool ideas for sure, but the execution was only fun for about the first 1/3, then it just felt like a slog. It is not a bad game, just didn’t succeed in keeping my interest.

Second play though. Oddly enough, i found the pacing to be a bit better on the second time round. I remember lots of parts of this game dragging but i didnt really feel that second go round. Got the plat.

It was really underwhelming for me. Show don’t tell me, especially with something short like this. Why does my control get taken away for the good parts. Also the end boss was just kind of frustrating. Bang your head up against a wall till it’s done. Also “hamfisted” is the term I heard to describe the story and its handling of themes and I agree wholeheartedly. I get that it’s a story about suicides, chain suicides and child abuse but like… it felt very basic. Nothing new to say, just the attempt at emotion when there’s no emotion really there. It’s just for the asthetic

It’s fun and silly. Loved warioware as a kid. This is simple and fun. Not a ton of content unfortunately and it gets pretty boring after the first playthrough.

Fun game! Never played the original so i have no touchstone. The original has been one of those roms that i have on pretty much every device that i own and I’ve always thought “maybe one day”. Well the remake finally got me. It was fun, enjoyed the characters, the music was fantastic, the world was beautiful and the combat was fun (yet veryyyy easy).

I was a bit dissapointed with this game. I love the art style, but this game feels like the definition of when non traditional storytelling goes a bit too far. In the 45 mins that it takes to complete this game… you are waiting and sitting around for something to happen probably 25 mins of it. Does it build tension? Yes. I just don’t think it had the effect on me that was intended, and i feel like the target audience.

This is hard for me. I didn’t enjoy it as much as everyone else. The game is stunning, the music is beautiful, the performances are fantastic, the story is okay. I had a hard time pushing myself through this. I think that it just comes down to “ prestigious PlayStation videogames” as a genre now, everyone wants to be the last of us. I enjoyed parts of it, im glad i pushed through, but man i did have to push myself. The combat gets quite meh through the (Much too long) 25+ hour run time and while there are great things about this game, i just did not want to play it.

This is a fun game. Nintendo is the Disney of videogames and you just have to look at this and you would agree. Just pure fun in video game form. As someone who isnt the best at platformers, i think this was the perfect difficulty and i had a fun time without getting bored or frustrated.

Fun little rhythm game. Will be playing it on and off for the foreseeable future.

This has always been on the list of “when i get VR” games. I played the original version of this game in a browser back in the day and enjoyed the hell out of it. This game is fantastic vr. Honestly it is more of a puzzle game than anything else. It is also so fun to show people when putting them into VR for the first time. They always seem to enjoy it.

Blown away. I LOVED the first Alan wake when i played it at 13 at the time of release on my shitty little laptop, loved the “baby’s first horror” of it all and all of the twin peaks/twilightzone ness. This is everything i could want and more. I loved the (admittedly simple) combat, the atmosphere and this game is stunningly pretty. The music, the weirdness, the connections between other remedy properties, i feel like this game was made for me. Platted.
