Really solid adventure with a great flow and scale. Some jankiness and a shitty combat section didn't dampen my enjoyment, though the very over-explained canon ending was disappointing.

This is fun to pick up and play now and then especially on mobile, but it is quite limited gameplay wise and has way too many annoying (aka not clever) puzzles to be engaging for longer than 20 minutes at a time.

Meh. I appreciated the emotional conclusion to kiryu's story and the new characters are mostly enjoyable, but things are slower and more limited than usual for Yakuza in a series known for having glacial pacing. The new fighting system is fine when you get used to it but never feels as smooth or fluid as Y5 or 0. The hunger system sucked in kiwami 2 and it sucks in this too, just mindless grinding instead of a more robust and diverse build mechanic. Onomichi is a terribly designed city compared to Kamurocho but unfortunately most of the game takes place there. I can't say this is worse than Yakuza 3, but most of the time I was just wishing I could zoom through this to move on to like a dragon 7.

Yakuza 5 is really fantastic in some areas and a complete slog in others. It's also wayyy too long. However, when it hits it REALLY hits. Mixed feelings but the highs outweigh the lows.

Definitely a better game than the first one, even if it's very similar. But... they damn near perfected the PS2 hack and slash with that formula anyways so why bother fixing what isn't broken? The story is still quite barebones and Kratos is almost comically testosteroned up, but the settings are much more diverse and huge scale. The boss battles are excellent, almost every one is unique and memorable. My only big complaint is how difficult some of the mob fights are towards the later end of the game and how reliant GoW2 is on button mashing. My thumbs were killing me by the time I finished

This is one of those little weird interactive experiments that will end up being a massive influence on things down the line, mark my words. One of the most unique experiences I've ever had in gaming (if you can call this a game).

Even if you aren't a huge Radiohead fan, I think the bizarre, eerie atmosphere and beautiful sound design will keep you hooked for the entire walkthrough.

Maybe it's because I played SMB3 for the first time as an adult, but I never really got into this one as much. Definitely some great level design and historically a very important 2D platformer with a great soundtrack though.

I know it's a bit of a hot take, but I prefer this to the original Mario Bros. Maybe it's because this is the one I played the most as a kid, but the re-skinned Doki Doki Panic (despite not being a true mario game) always has been one of the most interesting to me in terms of design and overall gameplay. Plus you can't beat the soundtrack's bouncy energy.

Mega Man 1 is not very good. There are flashes of the brilliance the franchise would come to achieve with its next entry, but for the most part it is overly difficult and has some pretty uninspired level design. Great music though.

The OG platformer has not held up great, but every gamer should at least give it a shot for historical purposes. The basic level design is still pretty great, even if the floaty controls are hard to go back to.
