It's a walking simulator. Leads you by the nose but also doesn't give you enough information to figure out what you are supposed to do next. Imagine feeling like you are lost in a 90s point and click and you simply cant figure out what to do next, but as a first person walking sim. Clicking around hoping to figure out where the cigarettes are or something.
Good story though. Just a fine game overall.

This game has a beautiful premise: Golf if boring, how do we fix golf?
There is plenty of content here and a lot of creativity. It's fun to see how golf is made interesting.

This game is one of the examples of what VR needed to be. Fully makes the purchase of VR headset worth it.
There are moments in the puzzle and game design that will make you hate the developers so much, in the best way. They know what they are doing and they know what you are going to try to do and they play with those expectations.
If you aren't adverse to getting motion sickness I hope you'll give this game a shot and see what could happen if VR takes off.

Swift game that doesn't overstay its welcome. Theres an actual story here if look at the art close enough. Other than that - one very effective scare and this plays like a beautiful episode of the Twilight Zone.

Beautiful puzzle game that doesn't overstay its welcome. Some interesting stuff but a story thats far beyond my understanding.

For a metroidvania based on a bullet hell game, this is surprisingly well designed and solidly balanced for difficulty.
The metroidvania aspects of the game are mid. The combat is unique and encourages risk taking and close calls over safe play.
Encourage it for fans of metroidvanias that don't care about a story (this game is all about the Touhou universe and I don't understand any of the references in it).

As a metroidvania it's fine. Does all the things correctly.
Enemies towards the end get super tanky for no real reason. No way to increase damage output really.
It's..fine, it's just fine. Doesn't have the polish of the other momodora games.

They don't make games like this because they hate us. This atmospheric point and click knows what it's doing and delivers. I encourage everyone to give it a try because there isn't anything like it.

So here's the problem. When this game came out in 2015 - it was a fine metroidvania. But we've gotten better ones. Playing this is kinda like playing something thats between the OG Metroid and Super Metroid. The upgrades are exactly what you think they are going to be. The rhythm is exactly what you think itll be. The problem is the combat is subpar. It's clunky and shooting doesn't match with what you actually want to do. Overall this game is what it was - just fine.

So this game has the oomph.
The world, the aesthetics both beautiful.

What this game does not have is the juice. The gameplay is inconsistent at worst and confusing at best. This is one of those souls like games where about half the deaths feel like they aren't your fault. The bosses recover from parries just a little too fast and then they get a combo on you. It's hard to recommend unless you absolutely love the genre.
There's a cool thing that happens a few hours in which makes this a much more interesting game, but it just didn't quite do it for me. The frustrating combat ended up being the moment I simply said "games shouldn't be homework" and left.

I'll be back for the next thing that Redlock Studios makes, I feel like they might just have needed more time to finetune everything.

I wanted this game to be a 3d hollow knight. And it isn't. That doesn't stop the game from having truly great moments and a gorgeous atmospheric world.
The platforming is a bit on the floaty side, and there is not an easy way to know where you are supposed to go. I found myself lost and backtracking constantly. The combat is not engaging and I ended up tanking all the bosses and just attacking nonstop. So take of that what you will.

This game has so much heart in it. There's a lot to be said about the difficulty and how it is a little brutal in that regard, however the additions of shields make the difficulty a lot more manageable.

This is a really truly clever platformer, with a really truly touching and funny story. I just don't know why there are some points of this game that feel almost too loved. There is a segment where you have to play a bunch of old retro games (not real retro games, but fun nods to them) and you have to do well with some of these games. My biggest frustration was being stuck on that.

It's a bit slow, a bit too long, but I don't regret playing it to completion.

Creative, fun, and short.
Some of the jumping can be a bit frustrating, but with writing this tight I can't really say it bothered me.
Puzzles tend to be simplistic, but can be fun. There's a big bug for people with ultrawide monitors during cutscenes, so if it freezes just change the resolution. Don't even need to restart the game.

Great 3d platformer, tries for a bit of fun with the minigames.

Combat get repetitive and puzzles are lacking.

Fuck writing as well. It's refreshing to play this.
