on its own the game is decent, but as a long time animal crossing fan it just doesn’t live up to what it should’ve been. somehow it feels like a downgrade from new leaf, it has more creative freedom and items but the core gameplay feels empty?? all the villagers act essentially the same and the same 4 dialogues are repeated, like while i love being able to design my island as much as i can now, the interactions with the villagers just aren’t the same which are arguably the most important aspect of the series
