OVERALL: 6.5/10, or 3.3/5, rounded to 3.5 stars for Backloggd.
Not without its issues, Fortnite is the premiere Battle Royale game. It's the only one that truly matters. The gameplay loop is satisfying, you learn to live with the tacky visual style, and if you pop for a battle pass, it's insanely addictive to try and complete all of your quests before the season ends. It's fun to play dress-up alongside your squad, and they add so many new features and cycle through so many different weapons and mechanics, it's hard to truly get bored of the game as a whole; if you're bored, wait for the new season to drop.
There are problems with the way the game handles lag, player- and server-side, and like every multiplayer game, there is a problem with hackers and cheats. That being said, I don't notice this in every game. It runs well on most devices and is insanely customizable. As of the date I write this quick review, the UI for the locker is the worst it's ever been; I get notifications for shit that isn't there, and sometimes my choices don't stick. I'm also not the biggest fan of the ultra-smooth visual style Fortnite has always had, but you get over it pretty quickly.
Overall, a fun way to blow off steam if you're not sure what to do next.
