๐Ÿ‘พ Life is Strange: Before the Storm (๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ 2017/2022)

Prequel that puts us in the shoes of a beloved character from the first entry of the LiS series. Despite being in hands of a different studio, it maintains the spirit of the kickstarter of the saga. However, the story is not as compelling, being the three episodes of โ€œBefore the Stormโ€ an emo sorrow fest not suitable for all moods .

๐Ÿ‘พ Four Last Things (๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง 2017)

Genius point and click adventure heavily influenced by Monty Python. Clever use of copyright free material to introduce us in a wacky renaissance world. Only negative thing is that itโ€™s very short.

๐Ÿ‘พ Metro 2033 (๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ/๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡น 2010,2014)

Adaptation of the first book of the Russian sci-fi saga. Although it follows the plot, the story is too diluted by action segments and you can tell the story is moving forward abruptly. Nevertheless the post apocalyptic world is compelling and has memorable moments.

๐Ÿ‘พ The Gunk (๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช 2021)

Lovely queer sci-fi puzzle platformer with good art direction. Overall is too simple and straightforward which might be appreciated by busy people. The story is not very original being the relationship between the main character and her partner the highlight of the game.

๐ŸŽฅ A Jugglerโ€™s Tale (๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช 2021)

What a lovely little tale. Itโ€™s not revolutionary and far from perfect, but it is gorgeous to look at and the story is sparkled with twists and darkness. Another short and sweet experience.

It took me several years to complete its story in short bursts because I wasnโ€™t invested enough. Itโ€™s an overrated entry in the series but overall its ok.

One of the staples of modern interactive storytelling. Great characters, amazing soundtrack and gorgeous art shake hands in this coming of age story with supernatural elements.

๐Ÿ‘พ Marvelโ€™s Spider-Man 2 (๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ 2023)

A great jump from the previous entries both technically and gameplay wise. New York never felt better in a video game before. It keeps the fun and the dopamine flowing. Despite honouring the comic books, the story didnโ€™t get to me as much as the first entry. Great game overall though.

"Yakuza 6: The Song of Life" marks the end of an era in the long time ongoing saga that, not only brings Japanese contemporary noir stories, but is also a faithful rendition of their lifestyle. This entry also features Takeshi Kitano portraying one of the main characters, making it an epitome of yakuza storytelling.

๐Ÿ‘พ Silent Hill: The Short Message (๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต 2024)

I still have to find out how it relates properly to the Silent Hill universe, besides the name dropping in a collectible. However this short entry is very unsettling. I rarely finish a game with a knot in my chest like I did. So far this is the best horror experience I had in 2024. I don't recommend it f you are sensitive about mental health issues though.

๐Ÿ‘พ Gylt (๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ 2019)

Stealth horror game heavily influenced by Neil Gaimanโ€™s eerie stories. Plot is simple enough and has a discourse about bullying. Visually is appealing although not a fan of the static cutscenes.

๐Ÿ‘พ A Short Hike (๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ 2019)

This little indie game is an exquisite experience. The lo-fi vibes in how it looks and sounds makes it the epitome of cozy gaming. Despite the simple goal of reaching the top of a peak, itโ€™s so much fun to explore and meet lovely characters. Itโ€™s a short hike indeed, but itโ€™s up to us to enjoy the journey at our desire pace.

๐Ÿ‘พ Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death
(๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ 2013)

Playing this Slovenian title felt like going back to the 00s with all the over the top action games like the first God of War. Feels like treating yourself with unhealthy comfort fast food but without the after regrets. Itโ€™s a solid hack and slash with decent enough visuals and a cheesy story. The fact that itโ€™s short plays on its favour.

๐Ÿ‘พ Praey for the Gods (๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ 2021)

This is a brilliant homage to Shadow of the Colossus. The colossi battles are as good as their inspirations, you can tell the love in the amazing work. The game couldโ€™ve been perfect if they left it that way. However, in an attempt to make something different they introduced survival mechanics, taken straight from Breath of the Wild, absolutely irrelevant in an empty world. Just beat the colossi and ignore the rest.
