honestly cant put into words how much I want nintendo to make good 2D mario platformers again. theres so much unbelievable creativity going into all their other mario titles, why do the 2D platformers have to be so bland?
im not one of those classic pokemon fans i havent been in this series very long but i really love how open everything is. fuck routes fuck all that nonsense everything just connects here and its so fun to explore. i love pokemon as just a big wilderness. so fun

the absolute amount of creative energy and effort that went into this, a complete remix of everything toontown online was, is insane. the tasklines are a lot longer and can get real boring but if you a) miss toontown but also b) think the orignal base game has gotten bland, you have to try this.

this game is the reason behind many of the closest friends I have today. this game was everything to me. my community and my people. played it constantly as a child. and fairly constantly as an adolescent. so much love for toontown

My best friend is the community leader of sorts of this game. He started modding it for fun like it's fun to fix up an old piece of junk car. Through this he inadvertently become one of the most important figures in the somehow active CastleMiner Z community, and now runs their discord server. He tells me that the team made millions from the game and invested it into a PvP game called Death Toll. It was released at a hefty $50 price tag, to mediocre reviews. The price continued to get cut and cut, until it was free, but still was essentially unplayable because of the completely nonexistent playerbase to match with. They lost everything, and the head developer of Digital DNA went into thousands of dollars of debt. His wife then divorced him, and now, every once in awhile he will simply post updates on the CmZ steam page saying he'll return to the CmZ community eventually.
