direct sequel to yakuza 7, with a greatly improved combat system. jampacked with content, nearly too much. weaker and less focused story than its predecessor. still, a wonderful experience.

a departure from the series beat ‘em up formula, an excellent JRPG chock full of mini games and classic Japanese melodrama. a good starting point for newcomers to the series (speaking from personal experience)

obscenely difficult puzzle game with an emotionally impactful story and well written characters.

i once saw another reviewer describe the plot as “a gentle yet firm reminder that you can’t stay in the waiting room forever.” i have nothing to add other than agreement.

perhaps one of the most elusive megaten titles. i have now played it with proper rendering thanks to advances made in virtual boy emulation on the 3ds. it sucks

has aged horribly. interesting plot & atmosphere, bad everything else.

for better or worse, it’s dragon quest.

ghost ship movie game with coop. great to play with a friend, horrible by yourself. ok story ruined by an absolutely awful twist.

up down left right DO NOT PLAY.

pure masculinity. a game by the bros, for the bros. excellent, fluid, and impactful gameplay by the ever talented team ninja. one of the best action games of the last 10 years

the best 2D final fantasy. excellent dark fantasy story with a great, uniquely designed cast. play the pixel remaster version with the Ted Woolsey uncensored patch and snes graphics.

interesting plot ruined by the most boring gameplay known to man. read the synopsis and be done with this. eternal punishment is the exact same.

the definitive version of this game which unfortunately still suffers from huge pacing issues. far and away the worst of the three Hashino personas, but the new coat of paint and slicker combat improves the package tremendously. play it after 4 golden and 5 Royal
