Much like the first game, the story and humor are on point in Portal 2. Wheatley is a great counterpart for GLaDOS. The mechanics are substantially expanded from the first game with the various types of goo, and I enjoyed the variety of new puzzles that provided.

The intro to the game really drags on, though, with lots of incredibly easy puzzles and loading screens. I would have preferred if it jumped into more challenging puzzles much more quickly. I liked the general idea of the non-puzzle areas, but I did get a bit tired of hunting around for the little bit of wall that I could put a portal on.

Those are just minor complaints, though. While Portal 2 isn't necessarily a personal favorite, I can see why it's generally rated among the best games of all time.

a confused twink and his band of princesses must save the world from an evil tree

More forgiving than the previous entries & still just as enjoyable to play. Excellent music as expected & the visuals are super impressive. You can tell they were really mastering the hardware. New gameplay twists like Star Man's low gravity for example are a lot of fun aswell.

When i say “you cant make a game like this anymore” i dont mean any annoying political tripe or cultural thing, i mean that writers are too scared to have the main villain turn himself into a splinter (im splinter exdeath!!!) for the sole purpose of telling you his master plan and then proceeding to get into a dbz style fistfight with a turtle. The chocobos dont dance to their own theme anymore, you dont get a single small room where you have to slide on your face to hide from enemies (you dont even get the choice) anymore, the list goes on. If any of these stupid wacky things happened nowadays its be a shitty parody game with annoying dialogue that hates itself for being an rpg.
Thats what FFV’s biggest strength is: it loves itself. FFV is a love letter to the series as a whole up to this point, including itself. Its silly and goofy, but the emotional parts of the story still hit hard, and the systems are some the best of any ATB game. (I will defend ATB btw i love this system)
4 is what got me into this series, 5 is what made me fall in love with it.
I am never 100% this game again

Awesome game with a beautiful story. Loved almost everything about this game.

You don’t need a plot or complex gameplay to have one of the greatest video game endings of all time. 9-27 and Infinity left me absolutely speechless.

A worthy addition to the series that swings in with high-impact fun. The story carries through a typical, but strong journey that doesn't let up and pays off in the right ways. Combat is hectic and easy to button mash, but difficult to master. Yet again, getting into that perfect combat flow takes some effort, but feels satisfying once you're there. I especially appreciate Insomniac's respect to open-world games that don't require hundreds of hours to complete.

Can't wait for more.

Checkpoint before Dracula’s staircase you saved my life

I know this is the cliche thing that everyone says about this game, but without a map, you will be absolutely lost. There are minimal hints, that are really hard to find, and I can't imagine playing this when it is released. Using a map doesn't take any of the value away in my opinion, as most of the fun of it comes from the challenge. It almost feels like a bullet hell, as the enemies move quickly, and hit hard. And once you have played through it once or twice, you don't have to rely on a map or a walkthrough whatsoever. Not much puzzle-solving here, and what is present is very cryptic and hard to solve. At the end of the day, while this game may seem like it hasn't aged well, there is still plenty to enjoy here that makes this worth playing, especially if you are a fan of the series.

I think I'm just a fucking masochist man
