fun story and characters, some of the worst gameplay ever

ok gameplay loop but not good enough to make up for the shitty story. not bothering with the postgame content.

having never played the original, i have zero nostalgia for it and deliberately held off on playing it once the remake was announced. a simple, well-paced entry level RPG with great music. it's a bit short but never overstays its welcome. isometric platforming always manages to fuck with my head...

i have vivid memories of watching lowres lets plays of this game on youtube circa 2006-7 at my local library on the weekends because we were too poor to have internet at home lol
