fun as hell; 100% gameplay, 0% bullshit. absolutely love that even by looking up and getting every single ability, you still don't really trivialize the rest of the game. secret final boss is pure RNG hell and every strategy to cheese everything but the supercomputer & black hole will not work—lucked out with RNG + all abilities + 2 address blades and shuffling it into as close to 99.99.99 as possible.

(JP) great gameplay, shitty story. if i absolutely have to pick between gameplay or story to compromise for a video game, it will always have to be the latter. gave my ring to veyle & found her ending to be great for scratching both that thematic itch and being platonic.

localization seething is blown out of proportion as per usual and unless you actually understand japanese, please don't parrot bullshit and base your opinions on hearsay lmao. all opinions are created equal except monolinguals bitching and moaning about translations from a language they don't even understand

once my "favorite game of all time" but upon replaying, i found it far too easy. still had a hell of a time and it was the reason i finally upgraded my NSO membership

loses a lot of the charm of the original and the japanese script just doesn't hit all the right spots like the english. has many of the QoL improvements from the japanese GBA release which is nice but not totally necessary. maybe the rose tinting on my glasses is a bit too deep...

fun ride, shame it got shafted and never received a remake

damn near set my fucking switch on fire playing this in handheld but what a banger (i collected every single film can) especially when you get to have a shootout in a cinema!

janky as hell nowadays but i wish it got a remaster. has the best character designs in the series.

played the absolute shit out of this in 2009-10. barely understood any japanese and my normie ass made the lame choice of marrying the main girl instead of cool bespectacled babe kuruna

sunk hundreds of hours into this but RNG hell still managed to keep me single. thank god for the switch version.

looks ugly but fixes every single problem that made the 3DS version a pain in the ass.

runs like shit and i would take remastered ports of oceans and frontier over this faux-technicolor fuckfest any day. at least scarlett is hot

cute and fun but not a big fan of games that basically force you to replay levels to 100% them (even though most of the secret waddle dees are pretty obvious)
