seryt reviewed Sable
Finally finished it after a long hiatus, playing on steam deck

It is one of these funny games that I would really like to love more than I actually do. The game is artistically solid but feels letdown by the technical executions (graphism are sometimes whacky with brutal loading/unloading, framerate is not great and even terrible at times - at least on the Deck where sub 40 fps is not rare and in some areas like the big city staggers to 20 are not uncommon. Also falling through what appears to be solid is not that uncommon and I was not always trusting the game about what I was seeing)

Even putting aside the technical aspect, the 7/10 rating feels logical even I'd love to put more because.... This game is a mood. It's not a spoiler to say there is no fighting, it's fully a game about exploring a world and solving puzzle (be it in your environment or interacting with NPCs). It's really a tranquil, quiet mood, where you set in the world at your own pace, go wherever you want to (typical exploration is really thinking "o, this looks nice, let's go there). And it's good ! It's an agreeable experience. But, it just feels like it's missing something. The world is nice to explore, it's good, but it's not great. There's not really anything amazing to see. Likewise the NPCs are OK, but not fleshed out further than they need to.
It's really a game that does the basics soundly, but there's nothing great to truly set it apart.

TL;DR: good game, with a solid "peaceful and quiet" vibe, but missing a little bit of something special to elevate it and let down by the technical execution
